I suppose it must be more common in insular rural communities? I really don't have a comprehensive grasp on genetics myself so I was hoping that someone would tell me the gist of how it works. I know most purebred dogs are inbred as fuck these days and most animal lovers promote crossbreeding due to that reason so I was curious as to how similar issues are adressed in human populations.

Well basically its for people that are too poor for anything else and for people who are too rich for anyone else
And i personally dont believe you could tell if someone is inbred by looks or iq, i only knew 2 inbred people in my life, one was a very dumb kid and the other was on of the beat english teachers ive ever met(but english IS easy so that doesnt really prove anything i guess)
I suppose it starts to affect people when they do it for multiple generations but i havent met nearly enough of them to tell
