That's how it works for me except I rarely plateau at specific times. It gets an hour or so off schedule each night until I either decide to force it back to normal or naturally get back on track. It usually stays relatively normal for a while until I end up staying up late for whatever reason.

Don't know why it is, maybe because others are also watching/listening?
>>79415249
>>go to watch Simpsons
>>nothing but post season 20 episodes
It's worse when they have season 10-20 episodes, because they're shit and uninspired, but people who stuck with the Simpsons because they didn't know it had utterly collapsed will have seen it, and the obligatory overused pop culture references will be severely dated (and excessively American-centric to boot).
Later seasons appeal more to women and millennials, which while admittedly shit audience profiles, are different from early 2000s plebeian American boomer male.
If I ever see that episode where the hunky prisoner stays in the basement and burns Skinner's car again, I'll fucking be angry.
the worst thing about going back to work is you fuckers won't even be active and ill have nobody to talk to
>>79416799
>Don't know why it is, maybe because others are also watching/listening?
For me I think it's that you don't quite know what you're getting. If I wanted to watch something right now I'd have to pick the episode myself, when watching the telly the network chooses for you. It might be an episode you forgot about but still enjoy. I imagine a lot of people would look up a top ten list or something when picking an episode of something like The Simpsons to watch, this not only raises your expectations too high but you might also not think the episode is as good as the people who made the list did.
>>79417153
I randomly tuned into the Simpsons on RTÉ three times in the past year, and each time it was that shitty episode.
>>79417051
I hope you're not implying series 20 onwards is better than 10-20. I don't like them either but they still had good moments once in a while and weren't as horrid to look at as the HD artstyle.
>>79417267
>you might also not think the episode is as good as the people who made the list did
I've been burnt by this so much that I enjoy things more the second time round when I'm not second-guessing or waiting for disappointment. It's particularly bad with sequels promoted as better than the original.
>>79417313

>>79417380
Seasons 10-13 are very watchable with good episodes in the mix. Seasons 14-20 are shit yes but they're definitely better than what came after
>>79417425
I remember an infamous moment when I was still in secondary school when RTÉ 2 played the same episode of the Simpsons two days in a row. I can't remember what episode it was, but it was one featuring Lionel Hutz prominently.
>>79417461
It's not terrible (Homer's sidestory is quite funny), but the main plot is stupid and boring.
>>79417472
>Seasons 10-13 are very watchable with good episodes in the mix
Yeah, I'd be in full agreement with this. In fact, the last episode of S13 is a million times better than anything in S14.

>>79417380
>I hope you're not implying series 20 onwards is better than 10-20
Better in the sense of wit, of course not. You get about five minutes of good scenes per season in ~11-20, only 2.50 in the later ones. BUT you get god-knows-how-many hours of absolute shit and dated D-list references galore through11-20, but less stale unfunniness in the newer ones. Plus I for one don't know what's going to happen in the newer ones, whereas all the older shit episodes I know inside out. (The old good episodes, by comparison, still have unexplored angles and forgotten nuggets)
>>79417514
Lionel Hutz' actor died before the cliff edge drop in quality, so it can't have been too bad.
>>79417472
Correct. There are still classic moments, if not episodes, within 9-13, even if filler and "safe" choices begin to dominate.
>>79417697

Come to think of it Homer had a lot of good B-plots from around this period like the sugar business and selling springs.
>the main plot is stupid and boring
I agree but it seemed strange two of you would single this one out compared to some other stuff.
>Marge, I promise you I did not burn Skinner's car
>I JUST SAW YOU
>>79417461
They show it far too much for what it deserves in terms of quality.
>>79417514
>the main plot is stupid and boring.
It definitely is, and it's probably because they stopped giving celebrities "degrading" roles with risque jokes after the Alec Baldwin episode. The criminal is good and Marge trusts and respects him... until he's suddenly not, in a very mild way, and Marge is mildly annoyed. *NNNGHHHHMMMMMMM*
The softball team episode makes an absolute mockery of what the Simpsons would become: a virtual blessing of every celebrity who enters their image into the virtual space the show's in-universe holds in a meta IRL sense.

>>79418644
>Does anybody remember The Big Big Movie every saturday evening?
I do, but I didn't really follow it all that often because too often it was weird live-action stuff from the 90s. The Little Rascals remake was apparently popular, they showed it twice in the two primary schools I went to as well as on the telly. Then there was the one where Mary Kate and Ashley swapped bodies, but my memory of that is very hazily confused with that movie about the woman whose husband fucks another woman while she has cancer and eventually dies. Combining the two would probably be an interesting movie.
Then there was the Stuart Little movie which in hindsight is very disturbing and has bad morals.

Yeah, but in that Hollywood way where the actual emotionalism isn't there and it's just "schmaltz".
None of the characters actually grew or had development and they were all selfish and materialistic. The only bad guys (the cat and the Jewish rat parents) were only bad because they wanted to advance their own selfish material needs through screwing over the protagonists. (It's always shit in a movie when the only thing that makes you root for one side over the other is the fact that the story centres on them.)

>>79419880

Cork is very central. You could cover the city centre from end to end in about 15-20 minutes on foot (depending on what you consider to be the city centre).
>>79419885
Some more info about it, please
>>79419934
Ok maybe centre is a bad choice of words," area of importance" is more like it
>>79419937
It's odd and a pain, things are very far spread-out so you have to rely on your car or public transport to get from one place to another, it doesn't really have a historical centre like Luxembourg or Limerick might have
>>79419880
>Hawaiian Chili-Lime
Never heard of them until now but they sound good. My brother sent home some exotic ones from the states before though: pizza, burger and white chocolate. Lidl had their own take on Pringles here like a week or two ago and they were pretty good: pizza, burger and kebab. Think you can still get them
>>79419884
Taytos as in slang for crisps? Literal Tayto would never venture beyond cheese & onion, salt & vinger, smokey bacon and I think prawn cocktail. Even Northern Irish Tayto do some different flavours like BBQ rib and pickled onion
>>79420027
Trying to remember it, what's coming to my mind is "Motherhood", but I might be confusing it with "Boyhood", which tried to be the same kind of oscar bait as this old movie was.
Things I remember happening in the movie:
>husband fucks younger woman in the shower
>kids are involved in the divorce or something
>the middle aged woman smokes some weed in the woods near the end
...
>Berlin
Is that spread-out because of WW2, the cold war division, or historically being multiple towns? Do you know if modern Berlin has much continuity with historical Berlin? Does each area have a specialty or what?
>>79420107
>Taytos as in slang for crisps?
I'm pretty sure it was Tayto brand but it wasn't one of their standard bags. It was a large bag coloured black and dark purple, I think it was a once off thing.
Going to bed. Hope ye choke on your taytos

Every area feels very distinct from the other ones, there are the punk areas full of squatters and their slums, the "ghetto" shadier districts, but also two different shopping districts, one very new one with modern architecture and the other one that looks a little older.
There are really no "old" buildings left as in pre-1945
Really no idea what movie you mean
Wondering if I'll sleep long enough to go out and get food before noon tomorrow. Am currently drunk and not hungry enough for a big meal but don't have anything in the house
>>79420201

>>79420513

>>79420654
Is that really a thing anymore? 80s-90s cars are getting more expensive because of rarity, not to mention the taxes. It'd take dedication to get one and keep it running, the post-NCT world is not like the past when even the taxi drivers were driving 90s Mercs.

For you.
>>79421914
You've been shitposting quite a lot these past few days. Or at least making short posts that don't really contribute much to the thread.
>>79422102
I'm bored and the thread isn't really going anywhere.
Apparently Pinterest is a really good place for getting anime fan art now.
>>79422368
I see it come up a lot on Google image searches but fuck the layout of the actual site.
>>79422524
You can say that again. When I noticed it throwing up a lot of good results on Google, I had a look at the site and even went to the bother of making an account. But Christ, I could not figure out how to use that site.
>>79422574
>>79422524
Is it really that bad?
>>79422670
It is the single worst mainstream website I have ever encountered. Even saving images is ridiculously awkward.
>>79422670
I remember it being an utter nightmare to try navigating. They've probably updated the site since then but I can't imagine it's improved. Take a look for yourself if you want.
>>79422773
The only time I've looked I got three columns down and they throw up an impenetrable banner preventing me from using it, which is a big fuck-you. If they're no good even when you sign up it's shitty.
>>79422771
I would have thought making it hard to save images would be a thing to get people to make accounts, not a disincentive against keeping them.
>>79423235
>I've looked I got three columns down and they throw up an impenetrable banner preventing me from using it
I forgot about that. I think I used adblock's element picker to get rid of it but by that point I stopped caring and just closed the tab.

>Cork
>Big city
Cork is pretty small compared to international cities and even Dublin. Feels smaller than Limerick to me too. But it's a good city and almost everything is in walking distance. There are a lot of satellite towns but only one town centre which is quite compact.
>kilkenny is a city
Why is this allowed?

>>79432718
Is it sore because you cut it too short?
Decided not to go to college today. It seems like a bit of a waste to go in the first week, the first lecture was just 2 hours of "To be successful you need luck, motivation and talent, also fuck drumpf" and I have to get the bus so it seems like a waste of bus fare. It's not even freshers week, that's next week. Would I miss out on anything if I just stayed home for the rest of the week?
>>79423560
>Feels smaller than Limerick to me too
Despite the fact that it's considerably bigger than Limerick?
Left a usb with my private encryption key in a pc at work by mistake.
Don't think anybody will know what it is but still....
>>79434206
Just drop out lad. Youre already fucked. What is fresher's week? Some piss up? As if you'd even go because you have no friends lel.

Muirenn and Pam on today FM are hilarious. Best Irish radio presenters.
>>79434206
>Would I miss out on anything if I just stayed home for the rest of the week?
Yes, you would miss shit. They don't have classes for the craic.
I assume you are just farming (You)s, otherwise you should drop out because that attitude in your first week isn't going to get you anywhere close to getting a degree.
>>79434206
You will miss out on friendship
>>79434206
>To be successful you need luck
No educational institution is going to say that.
>also fuck drumpf
Just remember that every single person who said that is infinitely more valuable as a human being than you are.
Think you should go back to /pol/ and post frogs for the rest of your existence. Everyone would be happier that way.
>>79434236
>Left a usb with my private encryption key in a pc at work
Can you not pick it up the next time you go to work? Unless you are Jaggy in which case I guess you can't.
And what have you encrypted? Can't you just change the key or reset passwords if it's a password file?
>>79436910
I'll get it this evening. It's an ethereum wallet key with nothing in it. So I'm just going to discard and make a new one. Not taking chances even though I'm sure nobody would have a clue what it is even if they notice it.
>>79436910
I bet jaggy could infiltrate his old workplace mission impossible style. I've always thought I'd be well able to sneak into my old workplaces at night. Actually jaggys old place is prob tighter than a prison. Bastards

You'd be surprised. You're forgetting how opinionated faculty staff can be.
>>79439732
When I first went to college 2 years ago, I got an e-mail from a lecturer giving details on how to login into a certain website we needed for the module. It included something along the lines of "Give your e-mail, e.g [email protected]". It's like he went out of his way to show how he thought Trump was bad

How is someone on the verge of becoming a NEET more valuable than most university students?
>>79440077
That's not what was insinuated by my post nor the post I responded to.
>>79439732
I imagine a comment was made and it developed into a conversation and then a few opinions were thrown around. Never went to uni but I imagine they can be very opinionated.
NEETS are inherently more Irish than everybody else and they're integral to Irish society.
>>79440292

You responded to me and it is what I insinuated.
The people who said "fuck drumpf" are either university students or lecturers. Do you think they contribute more to society than a guy who can't even hack a day of university without whinging?
If I've misunderstood what you were saying then please correct and explain my error to me.

What do you use ethereum for? I've only read a little about it but understand you basically use it to pay for making use of the etherum cloud/distrusted computing network or whatever.

May I ask why?
What isolation movements are you doing?
>>79446259
Front squats don't compress the spine as much, and I'm short enough as it is so they seemed like the better option
Tricep extensions, bicep curls, lat raises, planks and hanging leg raises
>>79446234
You know that he can never forgive you, right?
>>79446357
And I can never forgive myself.

Can't say. very big employer.
It's actually appalling lads. I suppose realistically it's a minority of people but I'd wager 1/4 or more of the workforce. Some places are just known for it, others are grand. The entire industry is fucked up.

>>79447261
What does OPW involve? Patrolling public parks and giving tourists advice outside castles?
>>79447372
Basically. Seems like a cushy job.
They fly their flag over the monuments the government uses them to regulate. Bit disrespectful in my opinion.
>>79447474
I'm sure they do a lot more than that but I've only ever seen them around historic and cultural sites. They probably do a lot of planning and protection of public land.
Do you know what would be a handy as fuck job? Toll booth operator, I hear the pay is quite good too.

He killed Lady Stark back at the Red Wedding
>>79448662

>>79448583
>Sounds like you have autism son.
Not wanting to sit in a claustrophobic booth while you get choked with petrol fumes and are surrounded by cars going at full speed is not autistic. Being able to ignore all of that is.
>>79448595
Exactly. You aren't sitting in an island meditating while you watch the cars go by, you're fumbling for change and dealing with grumpy and tired people and plain pricks.
>>79448896
>and are surrounded by cars going at full speed is not autistic
Cars typically slow down for manned toll booths.
>>79448896

>>79449034
I'm only teasing anon.
>>79449034
It takes one to know one after all.
>>79448941
You're still getting blasted with doppler sound waves since they only slow down once they're in sight of the booth and they speed up about 50 metres from the window.
>>79448974
How can you define it as "overly" sensitive?
>>79449304
>You're still getting blasted with doppler sound waves
This is one of the more bizarre concerns I've seen.
>>79449447
It's not a health concern, literally every sound is sound waves, it's just that despite the cars slowing down before the booth, you still get to hear them because they're coming towards you at high speed within the distance it takes for sound to travel and be heard by you.
You will literally argue about anything lads.
>>79449655
No I won't.
