Media in this country is controlled by certain interests who wanted Hillary to win the election. As she was so unlikable as a person the only thing they could do is make her opponent out to be even more unlikable. They were quite literally 100% opposed to Trump when it came to media endorsements, and have were extremely dishonest and biased against him in reporting. This shows clearly on your graph as you can see when the campaign starts. Trump wins and the media doubles down on their daily smear campaign to prepare the mindless drones for the next election.

Most people lap up what the media tells them as true regardless of its veracity and so you have millions of people who hate Trump for such "evil" things as wanting people who commit crimes in this country to leave and maintaining border controls as a sovereign nation. These are bad things for the people who control the media, so they'll smear and smear.
