I like Japan. My parents don't.

My dad doesn't like Japan because he has had trouble doing business there, but not in S Korea, Taiwan, or China. He says that the Japanese businessmen are not imaginative, not entrepreneurial, complacent, and monopolistic (crushing small businesses in favor of large syndicates). My maternal grandfather was cheated by a Japanese business partner who took their investment money to Macao and gambled it away.

My mom's been there twice and had a great time both times.

My Dad is the kind of guy who orders the same thing every time he goes out to eat and only drives American cars. I don't think he likes Japan.

I have a young mother so that might be why though.
