We have them some places, but it's true that those of us who don't deal with them regularly (which is most of us) get confused and a little anxious about them. I've gotten used to them since moving to the west coast where they seem to be more common but I still see other drivers acting like retards around then and prefer to avoid them if I can for that reason.

It takes 1 Joule of energy to heat 1 cm3 of water that is equivalent to 1 milliliter by 1 Celsius degrees.

Also 1 liter of water is 1000 milliliter, measures 10 cm3 and weighs 1 kilogram.

As a sidenote, imperial measures speed in mph or knots in case of air or sea travel, distance in miles or kiloyards, height and depth in feet. Metric uses only meters and kilometers.

The only ones I have in my area are in the city's back roads where there are houses and shit blocking visibility and the intersection is so small some trucks couldn't even do a u-turn through it. They basically turned what should have been a 4 way stop into a game of chicken, nobody even knows you're supposed to yield right. Fuck Gainesville.

Bitch you can't even see other cars coming at the one on 12th st and 3rd ave until you're 15 feet away from the intersection. I bike through them every day and have to stop nearly every single time at them because other drivers areretarded and reckless, going far too fast to reasonably stop or look around them. The sound of cars or their headlights at night are the most reliable ways to detect them.

The one at 12th st 5th ave has a much better view but a terrible ditch on the south side forcing you to nearly stop anyway.

if they're 15 feet away them why do you care? the car in the circle always has right of way. if they're already inside the circle you do see them, right? and if they're not inside the circle you wait. very simple. roudabouts aren't pedestrian crossings go ride your bike elsewhere.
>>
>>79311930
it's simple, but they're not as common here, so not all drivers ae familiar with them. and there's a fuckton more cars on the road, you'll inevitably run in to an asian foreign exchange driver, or a snot nosed 16 year old, or a firetruck, or a gaggle of ducks, clogging up a roundabout. they're not useful or needed in a large busy city.

Look at this shit. Look at how small it is. Look at the fucking brick wall that goes right up to the curb, the houses on 3/4 of the corners. This is the state of the American roundabout.
>>
>>79311998
Mini-Roundabouts are cancer, the regular ones are godsends.
>>
>>79281209
It's quicker because all four directions can keep moving at once, unlike your four-way intersection.

All you have to do is give way (yield, in your parlance) to the left (for us it's the right). When there's no one coming from the left, you travel around the roundabout to your exit.

>>79287515
You should add them to your driving test, for us it's a key part of our driving lessons.

>>79308906
They are awesome, indeed you only have to stop if there's someone coming from the left (in right-hand drive systems like yours).

>>79309338
You can't see other cars coming on a roundabout? If you're coming to a roundabout you should start slowing down a bit, unless you can clearly see there's no one coming from the left. If there is someone coming, then stop and give way. When there's no one coming, join the roundabout, and drive around it until your exit.

>>79311910
Roundabouts are BETTER for heavy traffic. Just wait for a gap and then floor it, easy. Four-way intersections are literally the worst invention ever, because you have to wait for every direction to do its thing. Roundabouts are self-managing.
>>
>>79311998

>>79312026
Niggers and millennial UF commuters don't know how to use them. The one I'm talking about in >>79309338 is >>79311998. It doesn't even qualify as a roundabout.

I have one more to post, those are the three I regularly deal with but I'm sure there are more in the city.
>>
>>79312026
>You should add them to your driving test
i think thats where the problem lies, if we actually were taught how to use the damn things they would be a lot more common, but since the intersection has been around so long no one bothers

Last one, it's the most open of them with decent view of oncoming traffic. Still too small and niggers and millennials still don't know how to use it. You can see that pretty steep ditch from the poorly built road forces cars, scooters, and bikes to come to a near stop regardless, defeating the point of the roundabout.

Those do look stupid and confusing to be fair, they're just intersections with things in the middle

So when it's an intersection without traffic lights (like those presumably were), and two, three, four cars approach it at once, who has right of way?

>>79312118
This does indeed look dumb. Navigating your car around that seems stupid. All of our mini roundabouts look like picture related, so you can drive over the middle of them.
>>
>>79312216
The rule is to yield to the right, or whoever was there first.

If not then just go and you get to test your brakes and horn.
>>
>>79312216
holy shit, that's garbage, 0/10 wouldn't drive on
>>
>>79312216
Since the roundabout is too small for anyone to actually be considered inside the roundabout for them to have right of way, it should function as a normal 4 way stop sign which you pray the niggers and 18 year olds on rented scooters are competent enough to understand. That kind of traffic doesn't really happen thankfully since these intersections are back roads that only the residents take. I bike through them because the main roads don't have bike lanes and I fear for my life in Gainesville traffic.

Exactly. Except with an automatic there is almost a whole second before the car actually starts to speed up. And when your RPM gets too high it will automatically change gear which is very dangerous while geeting past another car

>100km on 5 liters no problem
wut
>>
>>79312952
that was the problem where i am. everyone just rear ended everyone and since apparently everyone is blind more and more cars would rear end each other and a it became a pile up. then there were the faggots that thought "keep moving" meant that they could just step on the gas and keep turning and magically end up on the side they wanted to be, but instead they just sat there turning for minutes on end until they turned out at the wrong time and got T-boned. overtime people started to avoid it like the plague and it was just re-worked into an intersection.
although it was very poorly designed when compared to the ones in this thread so that might have been part of it

i can drive 100 kilometers (distance) on 5 liters of fuel, probably more depending on how i drive and what kind of road

I really hate this one though. They didn't build that shit for the kind of trafic flow they have today. Also busses rarely yield properly. Its a "biggest goes first" game.

I dunno what would be the proper thing to build here, but i guess something like this:

would have been accurate.

Looking at that I have to wonder

why not just tear the whole shit down and just build a better highway system from the get-go?
