avocado has been getting a lot more expensive even in here, i don't know if I have to blame those hip california youngsters and their addiction avocado toasts or mexican farmers for artificially inflating the prices.

Mexican seafood can be kind of expensive in the US. The seafood restaurants are often more fancy than regular Mexican restaurants.

I don't find the prices of everything else that expensive, is just the oysters.
They seem to me ridiculously high, are they even that hard to get them or is just because you have to import them?

damn those californians, making a salsa is now twice as expensive than two years ago.

I think it depends on the area. We have oyster farms on the coast where I live, so I can buy them in bulk for moderate prices. In other areas, the oysters are shipped, and that increases the price a lot. The same oyster in New York City is $2.50 EACH.
