Pentru că nu suntem slavi decât parțial, iar elementele slavone, atât genetice cât și lingvistice variază în funcție de regiune.

+ limba noastră e clasificată (pe bună dreptate) ca limbă latină. Paleolingvistica a demonstrat că limba română e o limbă paleo-balcanică/traco-dacică total latinizată (substrat paleo-balcanic) peste care a fost "adăugat" un superstratum slavic.

Dacă lingvistica reflectă și realitatea "etnică", atunci suntem paleo-balcanici latinizați care au asimilat o populație slavonă mult mai puțin numeroasă, dar prezentă pe teritoriul etnogenezei românești.

Arheogenetica indică același lucru.

Dacă te referi la cultura și tradițiile noastre românești, trebuie să ținem cont de faptul că Balcanii au constituit un Sprachbund în care toate limbile vorbite în regiune s-au influențat reciproc. În același fel s-au influențat și culturile, mai ales sub tutela bisericii ortodoxe și a dominației otomane care a influențat și schimbat drastic mai multe aspecte cotidiene și culturale în întreaga Peninsulă.

Cred că în mare parte elementele slavone din limba noastră provin din slavona veche care a fost limba liturgică timp de secole. Slavii au năvălit pe teritoriul actual al României împreună cu Avarii și e clar că au rămas aici, fiind asimilați în cele din urmă.

Probabil că identitatea slavonă și-a pierdut relevanța la nord de Dunăre și slavii au trecut abrupt la română. Ar explica fonetica și accentul care s-a perpetuat.

Descoperirile arheologice arată existența unor culturi/comunități hibride slavo-române, gen cultura Dridu. Nu?

În cele din urmă identitatea cântărește mai mult decât compoziția genetică.

I don't know if that's a real thing. I never quite see gypsies, let alone talk to them. They're not very common in cities AFAIK, at least not where I live. I can tell you about their history though. They were most likely brought to Romania from modern-day Pakistan and Northern India on the Silk Road by the Mongols. Another theory says that they reached Romania via Persia, Anatolia and finally the Balkans. Either way, we enslaved them and kept them as slaves for 500 years. Romania was the only country in Europe which practiced actual slavery until the mid-19th century.

Gypsies arrived in Romania around the 13th century and they were immediately enslaved. One of the oldest surviving texts from the Middle Ages is a body of law which stipulated that any Gypsy who sets foot on Romanian soil becomes a slave by default. Slavery was abolished in Romania only in the mid-19th century.

I don't have a very good impression of Gypsies, but then again no Romanian does. They're still seen as lesser/inferior beings and generally hated. We shouldn't had enslaved them. Now we are stuck with them.

That's a tough one. There's plenty. Depends what you wanna see and what you wanna do. You can go to the Danube Delta, the Black Sea or explore the Carpathian mountains. There's also plenty of natural parks, woodlands, lakes, great cities to visit, castles, archeological sites, monasteries and historical churches, skiing resorts (in winter) etc. Check out the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Romania.
