There is. Heck, if you look into PSP, you'll even find stuff like how to properly transcribe stuff over from Japanese, Chinese and Korean (anata no waifu wa totemo subaraší desu~).

So it was English, French in elementary, English, Spanish in middle school, English, Russian in highschool and English at university.
Bear in mind the "university" english were pretty much vocabulary classes oriented at medical terminology (medical uni)

You can't learn a language through a text book. No one can, no one ever has, no one ever will.

Learning a language is 20% foundations drilled in school and 80% doing shit on your own, using it.
People who simply sit back and do nothing but suck up the anemic vocab + the single most basic grammar rules and examples that school setting provides for brevity will never be able to speak the language at all. Look at the "weebs" you don't even consider people at this point who definitely put infinitely greater amounts of effort into the English education and still turn out unable to properly converse in it because they shelter people from ever consuming English media (great for their economy, not so much for the English fluency).

If you went to technikum and finished in total 13 years, you can go to university or we also have kolegija (college in translation but not the thing in western countries which is almost same as uni, here kolegija is also like trade school kind of)

Of course my path was middle school - middle school - technikum and shit job now.

In my days English was from 2nd year of elementary, I think it's since kindergarten now, my youngest sister was already learning ABCD English song there. Then from middle school first or second year you pick between German and Russian.

You can have French after middle school but it's a meme and maybe 10 people from whole country take French exam every year. I dont think it would be even possible in some cases because simple a class wouldn't form.
