>Well, I was on them for a while a few years ago and they just made me feel weird
I was offered them in Leaving Cert but I wasn't comfortable with some of the side effects.

>Yeah, but I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing my personal life with them. I'd only bring the mood down.
They don't sound like very close friends then. Me and mine used to have late night depression and suicide talks the times we got together. I regret being so closed up though, whenever it came to my turn to speak the words seemed to escape me. They knew I wasn't a happy person but they never knew why, they never even knew what my life was like before I met them.

>my secondary school experience would have been very bleak were it not for my friends. I'm not the most sympathetic person in the world, but I sympathise with people who never had friends at school
I didn't really have any until third year, and they were in the other class so we only met up at break or in maths. Then they took TY while I went ahead, looking back I regret that decision. I thought it best to not spend another year in school if I end up disliking it but all it did was separate me from them even further. I probably would have been happier and done better in school had I joined them.

>They're good people and I should probably do more to maintain contact with them
I should as well, but they didn't respond much to my previous offers of meeting up so I figured they got sick of me.
Besides, if we had real life friends then our real friends on /éire/ would call us normalfags.

>Because they don't know that I'm only doing things with my life to make them proud of me.
You could tell them. Or are you afraid they'll say you don't need to do such things to make them proud and your entire reasoning will be worthless?

>That wasn't an angle I had considered
It's always good to get another viewpoint on things.

>Suspicious.
Maybe I just wanted to seem clever, like I bamboozled you.
>>
Coke is a shite drug. Wears off too soon and leaves you hollow and the only way to fill that void is with copious amounts of more coke but you go completely numb to it and it's like shovelling an infinite amounts of JCBs into a never-ending hole. Fucks your heart too.

Great with alcohol though.

>They don't sound like very close friends then
They are, or at least they were. I'm sure some of them would be receptive, but I don't want to burden them with my issues. They have their own lives, their own problems, and at least half of them became normalfags. And honestly, I just wouldn't feel comfortable divulging stuff that I've never even verbalised (if you ignore a handful of counselling sessions I had).

>Me and mine used to have late night depression and suicide talks the times we got together
Jesus, I could never imagine doing that.

>They knew I wasn't a happy person but they never knew why, they never even knew what my life was like before I met them.
One of my closest friends in secondary school picked up that something had changed about me in final year. He asked me about it one night when we were drinking, but for the life of me I can't remember what I said. He brought it up again a few later (on the basis of what I must have said), but I fobbed him off.

>Besides, if we had real life friends then our real friends on /éire/ would call us normalfags.
Yep, gotta have priorities.

>Or are you afraid they'll say you don't need to do such things to make them proud and your entire reasoning will be worthless?
Bingo. I know that's exactly what they will say. My sole motivation in life is based on my own interpretation of what would make my parents proud of me. It could even be said that it's based off a falsehood, but I have no desire to confirm that.

>but I don't want to burden them with my issues
I suppose it would be awkward to bring up these matters with people you hadn't talked with them about before, especially the older you get. My friends and I had our late night depression chats back when we were teenagers, I think it's harder to talk about these things the older you get.
>at least half of them became normalfags
This doesn't help either, once they become well-adjusted members of society then they become harder to talk to about these matters.

>Jesus, I could never imagine doing that.
It was nice to talk about things, a shame I didn't do much talking. We also discussed anime and weird artsy shit. The strange part is they weren't even weirdos by the standards of the school, in fact looking back there were a lot of abnormalfags in my secondary.

>One of my closest friends in secondary school picked up that something had changed about me in final year
Something in your attitude?

>Bingo. I know that's exactly what they will say. My sole motivation in life is based on my own interpretation of what would make my parents proud of me. It could even be said that it's based off a falsehood, but I have no desire to confirm that.
Well that clears a lot of things up. Now I see your desire to make your parents proud is less about how they actually feel and more of a way for you to cope with your life by assigning it some deeper meaning. We're making some serious breakthroughs tonight.

I think my entire secondary was just weird, all the stories and videos my brother would show me from his year showed his class was just as weird. I think I took it for granted, only now do I realise that most schools probably weren't as fun.

Catholics are such cucks. They'd rather stick their dick in children and murder bastard babies in concentration camp esque workhouses before ever letting women have rights. *walks into confession booth*

In the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit amen.

Hello father this is my first confession in several years. (No doubt its the first person to attend a holy confession in several years too, the priest is shocked)

I confess that I have participated in years of immoral and twisted internet activities. I've spent years abusing other online and bullying them to no ends. I also confess that I've been masturbating daily to homosexual japanese cartoons including those of anthropomorphised ponies derrived from a childrens cartoon.
I confess I've been involved in multiple homosexual online relationships and participate in erotic roleplay.
My mother and my father are divorced and my father is an alcoholic while my mother has deep seated psychiatric issues. I confess that I am following their path of sin also.
I confess that I spend my life posting online until the early hours of dawn on a website that facilitates degenerate topics and has in the past and present been host to paedophilia, terrorist activity and extremism of all sorts.
I confess to -

*priest interrupts you*. The poor old man hasn't kept up with the times. He is overwhelmed and is out of touch with the workings of modern society and the newer generations. Perhaps you should come back another day to continue your confession. One step at a time child.
God forgives you, you are forgiven in the eyes of christ and all that shite I was told to repeat from a script regardless of what sins you've committed.

amen.

I haven't been able to sleep properly at all. I'm so exhausted. I got 2 hours broken sleep before eating breakfast around 6am and now I just woke up from another 2 hours sleep.
I feel sick. My heart is pounding in my stomach like I can feel my pulse there and it's very uncomfortable.
I have this constant non sensical noise/song thing repeating in my head like the same 7 or so words on loop like a skipping CD.

>>79199088
>the Netflix version
I gave it an open mind since a lot people hate adaptations anyway but my goodness was it a terrible movie. The character of Light being so unlikable was an especially big problem. The way they ramped up the gore and dumbed down the script doesn't speak too well of the audience they were targeting.

>the anime has fizzled out as one of those anime I taught were God their 10 years ago but are just ok
Probably, although for me it was the first anime I had ever seen outside of kid stuff on the Den and it blew my mind a little as I had never seen themes or character portrayals like that before in western tv. I suppose everyone probably likes their gateway anime more than can be justified.

Death Note was like a terrible mish mash of Mr Robot and Final Destination. The lad playing Light was such a bad actor it was funny. Every time he screamed, I laughed. The only thing I can't forgive though is the material was so shit, they made William Defoe bad. Not enjoyably bad, just bad

I forgot about that. It was also around the time I stopped being NEET or at least a couple of months before that. There was a lot of other things going on in my online too that made me withdraw a bit.

I don't know. I like these threads, but it's partially my own fault. I can't keep my mouth shut and stop arguing/being rude to people. I've tried and it only lasts a day or two when I do manage. What are you supposed to do if you go 1 or 2 cent over your even target for petrol? I had that again today where I went to 20.01 and awkwardly asked the cashier if they wanted the 1 cent but they've always said "its fine" up to now. Lotto quick pick with a plus, 1 or 2 lines or however many you want. Say the same thing for the euromillions.
I'm not really sure either but usually if I'm wrong they'll just ask do you want the options.

>>
>>79208175
That's natural though, think the only thing except for bullying I did is vandalism
>>
>>79208054
>>79208084
Okay where to start. Aside from more counts of shoplifting that I can recall, I've badly vandalised at least 2 cars. Smashed their windows, punctured tires, broke the lights. Have done minor damage to other cars. We used to trawl the neighborhood for nice cars, like mercs and beamers and steal the metal dust caps off them and put them on our bikes.
We tried putting a few lit matches in a pick up trucks petrol tank before but nothing happened.
I've smashed a few windows in a house, climbed inside and spray painted stuff on the walls.
I've thrown more stones at train windscreens than I remember and same with cars.
Set fire to a farmers field, set fire to a big tree in a woods. (both were kind of summer traditions in my neighborhood)
Thrown a couple of petrol bombs at walls as a test if that counts.
I wrecked a person flower garden once because they yelled at me for being a shithead in the first place.
I took a hacksaw from the school shed and cut through a farmers barbed wire fence because it was in the way of us getting the football when it went over the fence.
Another time I guided a couple of sheep into the school yard at break by feeding them crisps and getting them to follow me.
Does bullying count? I did bully some people fairly bad. To the point where we learned how to change their voice mail and stuff. Also abused and harassed the school bus driver a lot when I got his mobile/house number. Stole a bit of money too from my primary school. They used to keep a bunch of petty cash unlocked in the teachers desk.
Most of this was when I was 7 or 8 years old onwards to about 16. I've hurt/killed a couple of animals which I'm utterly ashamed of but I'm willing to admit it, no point in lying to myself pretending i did nothing wrong.

As an adult the drugs I suppose...occasional shoplifting.
Uh, clutching at straws here but a lot of speeding as >>79208326 reminded me.
I might remember some other stuff but that's most of it.

In the seasons after it goes to shit. The general consensus is it starts to go bad after season 9 but there's still the occasional good episode as into season 15. By the time they switched to HD it stopped being just bad and went to being borderline unwatchable.
>>
>>79212383
>but there's still the occasional good episode as into season 15.
Lol no. Season 9 is barely passable itself.
>>
>>79212383
The last real memory of the simpsons I have is when they aired the 300th episode on sky one and the huge hype around it. It turned out to be so bad. If I remember right it was the one with Ricky Gervais in it wasn't it? How anybody finds him remotely funny is beyond me.
Sky and their br*t paws only added to the demise of it desu.
>>
>>79212434
Season 9 was just the point when the bad episodes started to outnumber the good ones in a given season.

I'm a citizen, its not exactly immigration. Also why are you against immigration from white people. Last time I checked Irish young people have been leaving Ireland in droves. Congrats on being the only 1st world nation with a braindrain.

I've literally missed out on employment opportunities now in Ireland and the EU because the wait time out of Boston for a passport is like half a year.

Fair enough, nothing against you in particular or other whites immigrating. In reality though, there are more non-whites scrambling to live here than whites overall so I'd rather the process of getting citizenship was hard. Also, most Irish emigrants have shit degrees, trades or some other bullshit that can't cut it here so they go abroad. Hardly brain drain lmao
>>
>>79216402
I understand that. It just seems ridiculous to me that I've been a citizen for 22 years and people who reside in Ireland get their passports in like a week.

>>
>>79216402
While that's mostly true there are some professions like Nurses who are treated very poorly here while the construction sector is in a constant state of either being over or under demand. It's not brain drain but it's not all knackers going to work in Irish bars abroad either.
>>
Think we should revert to our usual policy of ignoring all foreigner posters.
>>
>>79216522
Digital docks, aircraft leasing, growth in financial sector, etc. The only thing keeping hundreds of highly skilled workers immigrating for tech and finance jobs is the cost of accommodation.

I was one of 30 looking at an apartment in Blackrock. One bed, one bath, kitchen €1700 month. Didn't get it.

Grand Canal Dock 1 of 27, €1500 a month, one bedroom, didn't get it. Man offered the lady €300 more per month on the rent and secured it at the open viewing.

I know people who spent nearly a month searching for an apartment every single day after work. They'd commute a couple of hours to dublin, and after work spend a couple of hours wandering around going to viewing and getting rejected.
The state of most places in Dublin is nearly 2nd world tier. Old as fuck moldy apartments overcrowded, with heating systems 20 years old that hardly work, in dodgy filthy area's. 1200 a month if you want to live with 5 other people and share 1 bathroom.
