Decades away at least but they are going fast, kinda scary how they cranked out carrier in 3years while India haven't even operated theirs despite starting earlier.

It's impossible. The only fiel where they can go close to the USA is the economics.

No, I think instead we will have two superpowers at the same time. China will become the Soviet Union 2.0.
>>
>>79160904
The world cant physically support china with the US living standard. Too many people. Also china has lots of minorities and regions with decent sized secession movements going on behind the scenes. Once china attempts to reach a high living standard American companies will find a different shithole to make cheap shit

What about cryptocurrency? Its extremely niche and volatile. It will never replace the stability of the dollar or the yen. Crypto is just a quick way to pump and dump. The real economic traits of a superpower are high gpd WHILE having a high gdp per capita. This is evidence of a rich average citizen instead of just a bunch of tycoons like it is in China

SEA is going to be China's South America in the years to come. Malaysia and the Philippines are already sucking their dick. There's rumors that China offered to deploy MLRS in Malaysia's Southernmost state since they think we're too friendly with the US.
>>
>>79168444
On the other hand, China is pretty boxed in. They can't project power anywhere and are surrounded by unfriendly neighbors some of which have nukes. Their military is at a 1980s technological level and of questionable effectiveness in a real war.

It's been said that the United States will never lose its superpower standing so long as we can afford the best wages for scientists and engineers.
>>
No, but we'll probably see the US retreat from superpower status. Maintaining a global hegemony is mostly an expensive waste of time when you already have an absolute hemispheric hegemony and don't have an extra-hemispheric ideological nemesis (like the Soviet Union) that might threaten your security.

Post-Cold War, we did global hegemony for a bit to maintain access to Middle Eastern oil, but now we have surplus domestic oil production again so literally we're just wasting our time and money patrolling the globe.

People of the middle east have not had a history of democracy nor do they value it. Which is why ME democracies usually fall apart the first chance it gets.

>There's rumors that China offered to deploy MLRS
You heard wrong, what happened was them offering some MLRS but as expected South China Morning Post made some news that sounds like we gonna buy it to create hype. Only artillery program going around is us considering purchase of surplus A109 A5 from Burgerland.
They did the same thing in an attempt to get us to buy their mid-range SAM previously.
Their only activity around here recently in constructing some sort of flak tower on the reefs with CIWS at the top.
>>
>>79169508
>People of the middle east have not had a history of democracy nor do they value it.
They're not civilized or developed enough of a culture for that and still believe in tribalism.
>>

Some say constitutional monarchy is the most stable although I can point out that the US Constitution is the oldest in the world.
>>
>>79169607
Especially withe the borders the French and Brits drew with countries filled with groups that hate each other. A dictator is pretty much required to keep it stable and prevent religious extremism. Like Saddam before he got btfo by Iran and became a religious nut.

>>79169674
The would be the Constitution of San Marino.
>>
>>79169779
>A dictator is pretty much required to keep it stable and prevent religious extremism
You might buy yourself a few decades at most, but as I said dictatorships are not a sustainable, reliable form of government in the end. There was a former CIA agent who said in the 90s that "We got 25 years out of the Shah. By the standards of CIA ops, that was pretty damn successful."
>>
>>79169779
>Especially withe the borders the French and Brits drew with countries filled with groups that hate each other. A dictator is pretty much required to keep it stable and prevent religious extremism

Really, all that happens is that a dictator arises from one of said ethnic groups and uses his power to oppress every other ethnic group in the country. You can see how this happened in Africa over and over.
>>
>>79169855
North Korea is 69 year old. Plenty of democracies have collapsed within that timeframe.
>>
>>79169855
Republics aren't that great either desu, though generally probably better than dictatorships. You most likely won't go out with a huge bang like a dictator, but they tend to become oligarchies as time goes on.

>>79169922
Of course this is to be expected.
>>
>>79160904
China will win despite being worse in every respect than Americans, because unlike Americans, they do not despise their own country and race
>>
>>79169779
If there's a thing that dictator LOVE to do;it's to raise minorities and groups against each other to comfort his position.
>>
>>79169978
Adding to this, like I said previously, the people need to have a will to maintain their democracies. Outside of the western world and some exceptions, this doesn't seem to happen.
>>
>>79169972
>North Korea is 69 year old

It's starting to show signs of cracking as well, this can explain Kimmy's temper tantrum now, he's trying to draw attention away from growing public discontent.
>>

>>

>>
>>79170185
Generally, yes but it seem to be getting worse now. North Korea watchers say the people, especially the youth, don't respect the regime anymore and consider Kim Jong Un a spoiled brat who did nothing to earn his power. Only brute force and terror are still keeping everyone in line.

I don't think the issue will be if there can only be one. Nominally china will be the biggest no doubt. By it remains to be seen if they will be willing to spend the same obscene amounts of money on the military like the us or if they want to be a interventionalist like them. It all depends on what you define as a 'super power'.

GDP per capita USA will be on top for a while until china cuts down their population.

If they can get close to the US in the economics, then they can get close in pretty much everything.

Remember that the US domination started with the economics. Thanks to the unmatched industrial output they were able to win both world wars.
>>
>>79170991
They won't so long as they're a planned state economy.
>>
>>79166657
Do I like their domestic policies? No. But I appreciate their approach to the global politics - they promote peace and cooperation(of course for their own benefit but still), they aren't into military interventions like the US. At least for now. They engage in massive infrastructural projects around the globe.

They are not entirely "planned state economy". It's a "socialist market economy".

And if they were to collapse, they would have already. For years already so many Western economists are forecasting the inevitable crash in China, but as for now, the Communist Party has proven itself to be competent in terms of economics.

Why wasn't Gaddaffi put on trial instead of just killing him? Even if he was a dictator, he must have been prosecuted. Even Hussein was judged before he was executed.
It's not like Gaddafi was such a big thret that neede to be killed as soon as possible (or maybe he was, but not to the libyan people)
>>
>>79171178
Bloodless tho. And they are actually contesting territories somehow close to their country, not invading multiple countries on the other side of the world...
