I just don't get his logic that it's somehow easier to find the thread by changing the established name. Most people search for "ire/".

I still don't get how people can watch soccer. Seriously there's more excitement in the first minute of a football match than an entire game of soccer. It honestly boggles the mind how you can watch 90 minutes with not a single score at the end. Why is it the most popular sport in the world?

It's not easy, I'd rather watch a highlights program. I think there are a lot of flaws in the rules of the sport that FIFA have never bothered to address which could have made it more interesting and more fair.

Gaelic is very boring. It's a lot of plodding up and down the pitch, it can take minutes to get from one end to the other. PL soccer is so popular because it's exciting and fast paced and the mentality is to run teams off the park.

In rugby you have to be a big lump, in hurling all of the players seem to have the same slender, tall build and in Gaelic you just have to be tall to catch the ball. He is perfectly entitled to make as many threads as he wants. I wasn't in there clogging up the place complaining about it.
I'm not going to posts in threads that aren't titled either /éire/ or /bant/éire/, as is my right. If he or any other poster wants me posting in their thread they can following the naming convention we have, use the name that was found to be most popular in the strawpoll we ran and make sure it, as agreed, isn't created before the old thread hits the bump limit.
And if people don't want to do that so be it, but I won't view it as an official thread.

But it hasn't. Searching for ire/ is the best way since it eliminates any random words with ire and, like he often uses as a defense for his britery, doesn't require knowing how to type é. I wouldn't have known there was another thread if not for this one making it sound like there was another. If this one didn't exist then I would have assumed there was no thread and would have made one myself.
It also shows that he's being disruptive on purpose since he used to include the /'s but now doesn't presumably out of spite. We were doing well until he started this OP shitposting lately.

>We were doing well until he started this OP shitposting lately.
That's Rusty. He's an /éire/ oldfag but also a massive normalfag, so that sort of disruptive behaviour is unfortunately expected.
>>
How much of a normalfag is rusty?
>>
>>79180352
He makes most of the OPs in the morning so its not really a "lately" thing. The fact you were complaining about the Tomoyo editions prior to this from him as well makes me think its more of an issue you have with him than the specific phrasing.
>>
>>79159857
so are you guys going to unite with northern ireland someday?
>>
>>79180425
I don't really consider making a thread when there is no thread to be disruptive. I think people who believe they know whats better for the formation of the general should be more forthcoming with making their own in the morning instead of waiting for somebody else to do it and then stand back and criticise them for the next 12 hours.
>>
>>79180459
Even more of a normalfag than Roorah.
>>
>>79180557
Don't act like making the thread is some sort of noble gesture that makes the nature of thread immune to criticism.
>>
>>79180559
What evidence do we have for this claim? Roorah is the most insufferable form of normalfag. Rusty seems to keep a low profile.
I don't even know who he is or when he is posting. Does he have a girlfriend and kids or something?
>>
>>79180602
It's not but it's more selfless than seeing there is no thread up and doing nothing. Attitudes like we've seen here certainly doesn't encourage people to step up and make a general.
I certainly wouldn't want to make one and be lambasted for being a west brit because I forgot a slash in the title.

By lately I meant that lately he's been purposefully excluding the slashes despite using them before just to be difficult.

>The fact you were complaining about the Tomoyo editions prior to this
I only complained about Tomoyo editions because they were every fucking thread. I'd do the same if we had the same subject 5 times a week. And the more people complained about it the more he forced it, that's the prime characteristic of a chronic shitposter.

>>79180557
>I don't really consider making a thread when there is no thread to be disruptive
The disruptive part is that he's intentionally making threads that he knows annoy people. It's shitposting plain and simple.

>purposefully excluding the slashes
I doubt it

>The disruptive part is that he's intentionally making threads that he knows annoy people.
I don't think so .I think he just wants a thread up to talk to people and puts very little effort into making it new or unique.

>why did you decide to do that last week after spending months doing exactly the opposite
I believe the number of /eire/ threads has increased a fair deal in recent weeks, and a brief viewing of archive would support that theory. I might do a bit of research to see if that actually is true though, just to have the facts to back it up.
Add to that the repeated Cardcaptor OPs and I would say increased tension amongst groups of posters in recent weeks.

>>79180896
>can we talk about something else
Sure can anon. Start us off there.
>>
>>79180934
>It's not that hard to remember when the general has always been called /éire/.
For months and months the title of the general has been both /eire/ /éire/
It's in the archive, you can't revise history.
>>
>>79180952
>I think he's making threads that he and other users will enjoy
If that's the case then he's catering to a VERY small audience by both posting Cardcaptor images and misspelling the thread name. There's all of maybe 2 other people who like both those things.

As I said, he's just being disruptive. It's not like nobody else would make a thread if he didn't.

And /eire/ has always been a misspelling. Only the correct spelling should be required; this isn't a dyslexic support group.
>>

>increased tension amongst groups of posters in recent weeks.
Elaborate?
>>
>>79181032
/eire/ used to be a kindness done for retards that couldn't search, that's why I used to put it in. But then some idiots got the idea that it was the proper name despite always coming second to the official /éire/ and kicked up a fuss about it.
>>
>>79180996
I think the only "disruptive" aspect of it all is the over-reaction by some people to something that is really insignificant. You're making something contentious when it really doesn't have to be. To the extent of splitting the thread in fact.

You could do with some perspective.
>>

That's kind of why the compromise title of /eire/ /éire/ existed in the first place. Is there some reason to exclude half of that for the people who find it convenient to search?

Because the incorrect spelling is wrong and unnecessary - it servces no purpose at all in the general title. That much should be obvious.

TYPE A PERSONALITY

The theory describes Type A individuals as outgoing, ambitious, rigidly organized, highly status-conscious, sensitive, impatient, anxious, proactive, and concerned with time management. People with Type A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics." They push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delays and ambivalence.

In his 1996 book dealing with extreme Type A behavior, Type A Behavior: Its Diagnosis and Treatment, Friedman suggests that dangerous Type A behavior is expressed through three major symptoms: (1) free-floating hostility, which can be triggered by even minor incidents; (2) time urgency and impatience, which causes irritation and exasperation usually described as being "short-fused"; and (3) a competitive drive, which causes stress and an achievement-driven mentality. The first of these symptoms is believed to be covert and therefore less observable, while the other two are more overt.

TYPE B PERSONALITY

The theory describes Type B individuals as a contrast to those of Type A. Type B personality, by definition, are noted to live at lower stress levels. They typically work steadily, and may enjoy achievement, although they have a greater tendency to disregard physical or mental stress when they do not achieve. When faced with competition, they may focus less on winning or losing than their Type A counterparts, and more on enjoying the game regardless of winning or losing. Unlike the Type A personality's rhythm of multi-tasked careers, Type B individuals are sometimes attracted to careers of creativity: writer, counselor, therapist, actor or actress. However, network and computer systems managers, professors, and judges are more likely to be Type B individuals as well. Their personal character may enjoy exploring ideas and concepts. They are often reflective, and think of the "outer and inner world".
>>
TYPE C PERSONALITY

A psychological disposition whereby an individual seems quiet and thoughtful, but is in fact frustrated and angry. A person with a typical type C personality appears to lack emotions, does not usually assert themselves and wants to pacify others. This type might be associated with a greater chance of developing cancer.

TYPE D PERSONALITY

Type D personality, a concept used in the field of medical psychology, is defined as the joint tendency towards negative affectivity (e.g. worry, irritability, gloom) and social inhibition (e.g. reticence and a lack of self-assurance). The letter D stands for "distressed".

TYPE E PERSONALITY

A term introduced by Harriet Braiker to describe professional women who fit neither type A nor type B personality categories but who have a marked sense of insecurity and strive to convince themselves that they are worthwhile. Type E women try to be "all things to all people," according to Braiker, and tend to suffer psychological strain.

TYPE H PERSONALITY

Not all type A people are prone to heart disease. Psychologist Suzanne Kabasa identified personality- Hardy personality (Type H). Type H people differ from type A people and others who suffer more ill effects due to stress in three ways-

Type H people have a deep sense of commitement to their values, beliefs, sense of identity, work, and family life.

Type H people also feel that they are in control of their lives and what happens to them

Type H people tend to interpret events in primary appraisal differently than people who are not Type H. When things go wrong, they do not see a frightening problem to be avoided but instead a challenge to be met and answer.

That's an issue with you then as I was saying. Happiness is just a feeling, you don't earn happiness it comes to you. It's able to felt by anyone, even lowly criminals drinking in the gutter. You can always work hard and accomplish things to be happy about, but most of the time happiness comes from stupid insignificant shit like finding a fiver or hearing a funny joke. Besides it's not like anyone would judge you for being happy.

I wouldn't call it repression but you seem to have some difficulties being open and whatnot. I know how much you praise your parents but I wonder if this is to do with how you were raised as most issues are. You talk of how you and your siblings would compete over marks in exams, were you put under pressure to succeed?

>few years just to get organised.

Obviously you express yourself fine on an anonymous imageboard, but from how from what you post it's how I imagine you are in real life.

>They expected us to do well in school and encouraged us to study
Well perhaps it's less that they pressured you to do well and more that you pushed yourself to appease them. Of course I only know them from your perspective. You say "expected" you to do well in school, what happened if you didn't? Would they give out if you failed a test? Or be very disappointed? Or encourage you and say you'll do better next time?

But I'm not. My original point was that I just wouldn't feel comfortable achieving artificial happiness via drugs because it would feel illegitimate and undeserved.

>but from how from what you post it's how I imagine you are in real life.
True. I don't discuss my personal life anywhere other than online, partially because I am a very private person and partially because I have nobody to discuss it with.

>Well perhaps it's less that they pressured you to do well and more that you pushed yourself to appease them
Definitely - right up to this day. I know that's not want they want, but I feel like making them proud of me is the only thing that gives me any motivation in life.

>Would they give out if you failed a test?
I never failed a test in my entire time at school, so I don't know. They probably would just have encouraged me to learn from where I went wrong and do better next time.

Sorry that didn't have much to do with you, I just wanted to vent.

>I know that's not want they want
>I feel like making them proud of me is the only thing that gives me any motivation in life
Those two things contradict eachother. How could they possibly be proud if as you say it's not what they want?I think you're just trying to find things you think might make them happy because you don't want to, or can't, do what they'd want you to do. Namely start a family or just live an enjoyable normal life.

>I never failed a test in my entire time at school
I expected that, that's why I specifically said that instead of "did less than expected" or something similar. Though for the life of me I can't remember why.

>They probably would just have encouraged me to learn from where I went wrong and do better next time.
Well that's good.

>Personally I just wouldn't want to feel like a different person, I have enough trouble with a sense of self as it is.
Well, I was on them for a while a few years ago and they just made me feel weird, so I didn't stay on them long. No idea what would have happened had I stayed on them as long as prescribed.

>You have those friends you ignore
Yeah, but I wouldn't feel comfortable discussing my personal life with them. I'd only bring the mood down.

>Sorry that didn't have much to do with you, I just wanted to vent.
I know - my secondary school experience would have been very bleak were it not for my friends. I'm not the most sympathetic person in the world, but I sympathise with people who never had friends at school. I just got lucky that in my year there happened to be a lot of people like me (something that was absent in both the year above and below me) - I had to do very little to build those friendships. They're good people and I should probably do more to maintain contact with them.

>How could they possibly be proud if as you say it's not what they want?
Because they don't know that I'm only doing things with my life to make them proud of me.

>I think you're just trying to find things you think might make them happy because you don't want to, or can't, do what they'd want you to do. Namely start a family or just live an enjoyable normal life.
Maybe. That wasn't an angle I had considered.

>Though for the life of me I can't remember why.
Suspicious.

That is until you get to the stage where you're a junkie and everything is terrible and feels like suffering. Fun times.

Going to bed bye.
