I once spoke with a completely Brazilian, broken accent on purpose and Anglos said "it wasn't that bad, at least I can understand you perfectly".

Then I switched to my normal accent, which is far from native but way more fluid, and they said they couldn't notice the difference.

So I guess there is no such thing as an accent when it comes to English, pretty much anything goes and the language will keep on being corrupted by massive widespread.

People tell me I sound German online.

Irl my Mexican accent is more obvious but not too bad, mostly just trouble pronouncing certain sounds.

It's alright. I do have a bit of an accent. For example, I have a hard time pronouncing things like "the", which is a typical problems for French speakers. Also sometimes I speak too fast and slurs words when I haven't practiced for a bit. My brain can think in English just fine, but my mouth doesn't follow.

So I practice with tourists or exchange students. Had a few girls tell they found my accent cute, too.

Mine is just standard american because I spent a lot of time abroad but most Czechs have this weird accent that's COMPLETELY DIFFIRENT from the Russian accent (i don't know why so many people assume every slav has a russian accent) where they don't roll their Rs but overexaggerate the correct pronounciation which sounds even worse than rolling it. I can often identify West Coasters by their dialect (the words they use) but not their accent. The New York, Boston, Baltimore, Tidewater, Appalachian, Southern, and New England accents are much more distinguishable from the Standard American accent in my experience.

A French person once mistook me for British. I'm not sure what to feel about that, considering my Asian background.
