It's not about them being Jews really. They have the Great Russian Empire mindstate and the failed Soviet Union experiment left them out of their true homeland's borders. This is why 80k of them don't have Estonian citizenship. Of course Europe and Estonia come with a lot of goodies, which Russians don't have so they're not leaving either. But now in their minds THIS is their new home and Russia has to come one day and make it theirs. It's more of a cockroach thing. They came in, made it their home and dare anyone to make them leave.

To put it into perspective, in Estonian people's minds, even after the First Republic (1918-1940) and Russian Empire's attempts at assimilation, Russians were pretty much an irrelevant minority here, just below 10% and even less before. The bulk of the current minority were shipped here by Stalin, borders with Russia were opened and 100k Estonians were killed or sent to Siberia. Basically we were flooded with factory workers and economic migrants from Russia - the lowest of trash. Eventually over the Soviet time this really fucked with our demographics, which you can obviously see until this day.

I'm not complaining at all. High quality education, opportunities to go to most universities, it's really all up to you. It will be fine as long as we're free.
