Your post made me feel ashamed. The best I can do to save my parents' money is to eat out less. They pay my tuition and rent (a 2BR appt all to myself), and also give me pocket money. Not much else to do when the govt builds your college in the middle of the jungle 20km from nearest small town where monkeys sits with you at the bus stop.
Still feels somewhat lonely even with good house mates since everyone else is in the army reserve and always attached to their unit or out marching and training on weekends. Man I should have picked that instead of the land scouts, playing terrorist cell sounds more fun than regular camping.
