how simmilar are colombia and venezuela? culture, people, food, music etc, accent?
>>
>>79066157
> Culture
Same
> People
Same. Euro+African+Arab+Amerindian
> Food
Very similar. We both eat Arepa and our main dish is based on beans
> Music
Same. We created Vallenato and it is insanely popular over there. Both countries dance Joropo. Both countries have well known representatives in the Salsa, Merengue and Reggaetón Genres.
> Accent
Depends on the region. People from the Venezuelan Andes (Tachira, Merida) talk like people from our Santanderes region. People from the Venezuelan plains (llanos) and Amazon region talk like people from our eastern plains (llaneros). People from northwest Venezuela talk almost indistinguishable from people from our Caribbean coast. This is the typical Venezuelan accent btw. There are subtle ways to tell me apart though, as they sometimes pronounce the "S" at the end of words as a Spanish "J" o English "H". i.e: Puej (pues).

>>
>>79066614
how can the culture be the same, when the countries are so different economically?

Venezuela should be richer than Norway, but the government managed the wealth worse than Saudi Arabia!
>>
>>79066708
It already happened once.
>>
>>79066614
I've heard you guys really hate each others, is it true?
Also is it true that Venezuela has no history before colonization?
>>
>>79066958
It's kinda like the difference between USA and Canada. Sure, they're slightly different but it is not like we suffer a culture shock when we hang around each other
>>
>>79067254
>I've heard you guys really hate each others, is it true?
Colombians and Venezuelans are brotherly nations. Up here at least they love each other. Historically speaking both countries have experienced migration en masse from the other during tough economic or political periods.
>>
>>79067254
>I've heard you guys really hate each others, is it true?
In my experience, no. Some Colombians don't like the fact that they come here to take our jobs and increase perception of crime in some cities. In the past though, Venezuelans used to look down on us as they were richer and Colombians used to go there looking for better opportunities. Now the tables have turned but I'm sure some of them still hate us. Especially those who sympathize with their government, which is constantly trash talking about us. In general, we get along pretty well and they adapt easily.
>>
>>79066157
They are the exact same thing for a foreigner but talk with different accents.
>>
They're the same thing
>>
Venezuelans tend to be wh*ter
>>
>>79071093
it's actually the opposite. They tend to be noticeably more mulatto
>>
>>79066157
Colombia is more andean and Venezuela more caribbean

Kinda. The venezuelan "Amazon" would be considered part of the plains (llanos) in Colombia. And the Caribbean accent can be mistaken by the untrained ear (Andean and Pacific Colombians) as far east as Caracas, maybe even Barcelona-Puerto la Cruz. I've met Caraqueños who I thought where Barranquilleros or Cartageneros the first time we spoke
>>
>>79066157
Colombia up until before the rise of mico mandante Chávez, was a cheap and low-quality Venezuela.
>>
both countries have very distinctive regions and are very varied within themselves.

Pacific Coast Colombia is like west Africa in many ways.

Caribbean Coast Colombia has a lot in common with other Caribbean countries such as Cuba, Dominican Republic, etc.

Southwestern Colombia is Equator 2.0 (it was part of Equator, we took it from them at war).

On general terms Colombia-Venezuela "twin brothers" is a meme. We have as much in common with Venezuela as we have with Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, DR, Mexico, etc. Also the core of Colombian subcultures (Antioquia, Bogota, Santanderes) has very unique features not found in other countries.
>>
>>79072432
>And the Caribbean accent can be mistaken by the untrained ear (Andean and Pacific Colombians) as far east as Caracas, maybe even Barcelona-Puerto la Cruz
You must be kidding. Venezualan Caribbean accent doesn't sound an ounce as disgusting as Colombian Caribbean accent does. It's not like I'm fond of how standard Venezuelan (aka Caribbean) accent sounds like, but you must be honest and admit the facts: It's clearly distinguishable and sounds far better than the utter ear raping gibberish that Costeños utter. There's something in the way how costeños pronounce letters that makes their speech sound fucking repulsive (it's not even about which letters they pronounce or which letters they omit)
>>
>>79075326
The Caribbean coast is vastly more similar to Venezuela than to Cuba or the Dominican Republic. The Santanderes are much more culturally Similar to Tachira and Mérida than to Bogotá or Antioquia and the plains are the same thing in both countries with their joropo and cowboy culture. Also, you can't say that Venezuela has less in common with us than Mexico, which has an entirely different culture compared to ours. The other countries you mentioned at the end do share a lot of commonalities with us, except maye Ecuador, which albeit being somewhat similar to us, it still retains some native customs throughout its territory, unlike us.
>>
>>79066958
that guy is just retarded. As I said Colombia has very distinctive regions, so does Venezuela. Even close regions within the same country have very noticeable differences. Moreso if you compare different countries. There's more distance between Bogota and Caracas than there is between Madrid and Amsterdam.

>>79066614

> People
>Same. Euro+African+Arab+Amerindian

according to this half of Latin America is the same.

For a start, indian tribes are very different here and there. Different linguistic groups (Venezuela doesn't have Chibcha or Quechua languages as Colombia), different customs, etc.

>Very similar. We both eat Arepa and our main dish is based on beans

many other LatAm countries have their own version of arepas (pupusas, gorditas, etc). Beans are eaten everywhere in the World.

>Same. We created Vallenato and it is insanely popular over there. Both countries dance Joropo. Both countries have well known representatives in the Salsa, Merengue and Reggaetón Genres.

Joropo is from a region that both countries share but it's not listened outside of that area.

Salsa, merengue or reaggeton are listened all over the World.

>People from the Venezuelan Andes (Tachira, Merida) talk like people from our Santanderes region.

of course becauseall of these (Llanos, Santanderes) are border areas. but that's not even accurate because Merida accent is very different.

>People from northwest Venezuela talk almost indistinguishable from people from our Caribbean coast.

not at all, it's completely different. Venezuelan accent sounds like a mix of Cuban+Llanero+something else.
>>
>>79075470
Middle class costeños speak very similar to them, except that they pronounce the letter S right
>>
>>79075326
>Southwestern Colombia is Equator 2.0 (it was part of Equator, we took it from them at war)
gib back
>>
>>79075542
Mexican culture has much more impact in Colombia than Venezuelan one (music, cinema, food). Even Venezuelan arepas are completely different to ours. Paisa arepa culture and Venezuelan arepa culture are opposites.

>The Caribbean coast is vastly more similar to Venezuela than to Cuba or the Dominican Republic

the music genres you listed (salsa, merengue, reageton) have its origins in the later countries, not in Venezuela. you are just being retarded.

>The Santanderes are much more culturally Similar to Tachira and Mérida than to Bogotá

not at all, Bucaramanga is much closer on every way to Bogota than to San Cristóbal
>>
>>79075588
>Venezuela doesn't have Chibcha or Quechua languages as Colombia
They did have chibcha tribes, on top of Caribs, which were also widespread across northern Colombia
>according to this half of Latin America is the same
This particular mix is also found in significant numbers in Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. caribbean countries are not as Euro and the southern cone hes very few african ancestry in comparison
>have their own version of arepas
they're not called arepas anywhere else and have a different cooking/preparation method. Thdy might look similar but are not the same thing. Try telling an indian a naan is the same as a pita bread.
> Salsa, merengue or reaggeton are listened all over the World.
To the same degree? Do other countries have the same representation across the board?
>>
>>79075679
>Even Venezuelan arepas are completely different to ours
Please don't be this fucking retarded. The dough is exactly the same. I have more than 20 Venezuelan coworkers m8, I know what I'm talking about. One of them sells fucking arepas to us from time to time and the only difference is the filling. They stuff it with weird combinations like chicken and avocado while we normally eat it plain with butter, chesse and salt. However, when we do stuff it, we do so with carne desmechada, hogao, chorizo and other typical Colombians fillings. Please don't tell me you've never eaten arepas from a street vendor. If you're Cerón I'd understand you trying this hard to prove we're completely different considering you're a mestizo living closer to Ecuador and who probably feels closer to them, otherwise fuck off
>>
all the south american countries tend to be very friendly to each other
>>
>>79075695
>They did have chibcha tribes

they have like only one, right at the border. The linguistic native core of Colombia, Panama and CR is Chibcha. Venezuela is much more Carib/Arawak.

>This particular mix is also found in significant numbers in Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil

not at all. Venezuela and especially Brazil received a lot of non-Spanish European immigration. Colombia didn't. Indian tribes were and are different too.

but that's beside the point. Every country just developed their own cultural spheres differently over hundreds of years. For one, Paisa or Cundiboyacense "cultures" are just different from anything anywhere else.

all arepas have different preparation method. Boyacense arepa is different from arepa de huevo and both differ from Venezuelan and other Colombian arepas. Arepa is staple food in Venezuela, but it's only eaten ocassionally in Colombia. A Venezuelan would never eat tasteless flat Paisa arepa.

>Do other countries have the same representation across the board?

yes, salsa, merengue or reageton is played and popular all over the Americas.
>>
>>79075846
>he dough is exactly the same.

exactly, arepas are just corn dough, nothing else. they propably originated in Mexico, where corn got domesticated. it's common food all over the Caribbean basin under different names (gordita, pupusa, arepa, whatever).

> If you're Cerón I'd understand you trying this hard to prove we're completely different considering you're a mestizo living closer to Ecuador and who probably feels closer to them, otherwise fuck off

I'm not Cerón, I'm from Bogota. I understand that you try this hard to reinforce this "Colombia venezuela twin brothers meme" since you are probably some Costeño nigger with half of your family living there but, fuck off.
>>
>>79075934
>it's only eaten ocassionally in Colombia
Speak for yourself. Where I'm from people eat arepa religiously every single day.
>Venezuela and especially Brazil received a lot of non-Spanish European immigration
Brazil was huge recipient and Venezuela had an immigration boom during the oil rush in the 1930s-1950. It doesn't mean that we didn't receive non-spanish Euro immigration. We definitely did, but in smaller numbers throughout a much more spread amount of time since the Colony. Lots of italians came here, especially to the coast and santanderes, and a good amount of germans as well. There are cemeteries in some parts of Santander where you can find a large amount of German last names. Even to this day, you can find lots of farmers )sometimes living in poverty) with blond hair and blue eyes across the andes
>>
>>79076016
>I understand that you try this hard to reinforce this "Colombia venezuela twin brothers meme" since you are probably some Costeño n*gger with half of your family living there
Ask anyone from the coast, Santanderes or Llanos orientales that they're closer to Ecuador, Panama or Costa Rica and they'll think you're a fucking lunatic who lost his mind
>>
>>79076345
Of course because these are areas bordering Venezuela. Costeños would say they have a lot in common with many countries.
>>
>>79066157
They're a little similiar but sometimes they hate each other
>>
>>79066157

We're pretty much the same thing, the most notorious difference is that Venezuela is a socialist country meanwhile Colombia is a capitalist country.
>>
>>79066157
They are the same, Gran Colombia shouldn't have disbanded
>>
>>79066157
I can speak with the experience of having fucked both colombian and venezuelan whores working here.

They're both hot
>>
>>79077970
I know that feel. I've fugged 3 Venezuelan prostitutes. Also one Argie and one Colombian-Japanese.
>>
>>79066157
Do Colombians still visit Venezuela these days, or is it considered too risky? I was in Maracaibo back in 2013, and there were lots of Colombians visiting, doing business, etc. Have most of them left by now?
>>
>>79078178
I've never paid for sex , but I kissed a Venezuelan qt 3.14 from Maracaibo the other day. Amazing ass and breasts, man. Softest lips ever as well. The only downside is that she wears braces. Been with an Argie too when I lived in Argieland. Where the fuck did you manage to run into a colombo-nip though?
>>
>>79078246
there are like 5 millions of colombians living in venezuela, because their homecountry is a poor hellhole
>>
>>79078246
Yeah, they still visit and some madmen even move as hard to believe as it sounds. Colombian is actually the largest ancestry in Venezuela. About 1/5 of all Venezuelans have a Colombian ancestor
>>
>>79078327
We have higher purchasing power. Also, the 5 million figure is off as fuck. It is actually closer to 700k and was like 1.2 million at its highest point
>>
>>79078379
>We have higher purchasing power. Also, the 5 million figure is off as fuck
even the american media say it was a fact that 15% of venezuela's population is colombian
>>
>>79078403
show me. About 20% might have a colombian ancestor but it's phisically impossible that there are 5 million colombians living there, the numbers imply don't add up. There are an estimated of 4.5 million colombians living abroad in 100+ countries, m8

they won't do shit to save their lives. They also exist on the Venezuelan side in Zulia state and it is the same story or probably even worse. The region has arid hot climate so there are not many ways for them to get food and they expect the government to literally spoon feed them in exchange for nothing. I really don't get why they simply don't move to greener pastures
