Why not? It's healthier than beef really, so I don't see why you'd be prohibit yourself from having a taste.

This. It's not a taboo like in anglo countries, but it's quite uncommon.
Anyway a friend of mine rides horse and she said she would never eat horse meat.
I guess being used to them builds that kind of mood.
