Don't let reality get in the way of your edge. They get gibs on basic needs because a lot of people don't want to see them starving of course. It's a simple, clear issue and sometimes politically inexpedient to cut considering even a lil bit of Western shekels morphs into huge volume of gibs and bribes to locals . It's worse than investment in their workforce and potential, absolutely, yet the latter requires for third world partners, in order, rule of law - > political stability through peaceful transitions of power - > financial predictabilty - > solvency of existing (probably shit tier) important sectors of the economy. Growth is not enough.

This situation is sometimes a stairway a bit too step for most nigger nations to climb, so we just send peacekeepers and gibs so they don't chimp out from empty stomachs. I'm no dirty commie but a lot of fuckers will die without foreign aid. And people can empathize with that.

And it's not a half bad state of affairs. Even Ro chips in some hundred million on foreign aid and nobody ever talks about it or whines about it internally.
