What about French?

Bonus: most of the British slang has changed meaning, because it came from early settlers in the time of the British mandate that didn't really understand English.
Manyak - from Maniac, means something like ''asshole'' or ''jerk''
Biskvit - from Buiscuit, meaning cookie, but specifically the kind you dip in tea (we also call them ''petiber'', bonus points if you figure what that's from)
''Third time ice-cream'' - an idiom meaning ''third time's the charm'', from the phrase ''you scream, i scream, we all scream for ice cream''

Yes
From Latin and German, mostly, tho almost all of them have Slavic counterparts, some of which were themselves borrowed from other Slavic languages
It's possible to use a latinate register in Slovene just like in English and many other languages, or a lumpen vernacular filled with German words
