One of my cousin immigrated to United States and somehow he joined US Army as a Specialist. And I recently heard that he joined one of the Law Enforcement Agency around California after serving for like 5 years in Army.
So, What I wonder is, Is it hard to become a police officer or sheriff in United States or Canada? Especially as an immigrant from Asia.
Not really. Seems like half our policemen have Asian last names. Heck, our minister of defense is an Indian Sikh, so there's literally no discrimination against Asians over here.

Military background is preffered so your cousin won't have trouble.

It is incredibly hard without military background

What about with the military background?
Would that make bit easier to join?

Is that true? I Thought US police you could just join straight out of high school
In the UK it's fucking ridiculous how little vacancies there are for police officers, you need a degree minimum and now they want you to speak a second language fluently

Dayum, That sounds pretty sick.
Second language? How come they need bilingual Police in English-Speaking Country?

the criminals don't speak english if you catch my drift
Its easy. Just point and shoot.

They can, but if you want to be a special ops kind of cop, you need a military background or a degree. Otherwise you're gonna start out as a beat cop.
