>brother marries woman
>my parents become her parents-in-law
>I technically become her brother-in-law
>she is therefore my sister-in-law
>it stands to reason that her brother would also become my brother-in-law
But if I mention my "brother-in-law" or "sister-in-law", people will assume I'm married and referring to my nonexistent wife's siblings. Do you have any words in your language to describe this relationship? What about the relationship between you and your sibling's parents-in-law?
For a language that likes to borrow words from every other language, I find it strange we don't have an unambiguous word for this. What's strange is that we actually do have a word for your spouse's sibling's spouse (co-brother-in-law or co-sister-in-law).

We used to have separate words but now it works exactly like in English, same word for (say) your brother's wife and your wife's sister
