Everything in Europe feels so domesticated. The people, the cars, the trucks, nature, housing. I want to get out of here. I want to be an American and buy a Ford Mustang and a Ford F-150 and go drive fast on completely empty highways in the middle of the night, I want to hear Kenworth trucks use their jake brakes, and I want to go out hiking in the middle of nowhere without meeting other people every 30 seconds.

And fuck I know this thread will probably be flooded with Europeans telling me how good I have it here, how shitty America is, but god damn it, everything is micromanaged here, and I just want to have some fun.

On the other hand Americans are incredibly wasteful and ignorant about their nature because they think they can't run out of it. The US are seven times less densely populated than Germany and their rivers are already more polluted than ours. They're absolutely horrid at dealing with the environment.

Roughly half of the country's population lives here.
Even outside of it, Belgium is still quite densely populated. Only the Ardennes are quite nice, but even there you'd be hard pressed to find a stretch of more than 5-10km without encountering houses, roads etc.
To experience wilderness I have to go abroad, but even then the Netherlands, Northern France and Western Germany are still highly urbanized. I just wanna live somewhere pretty and quiet even for just a little while. A ranch in Montana or sth.

You could just use your whole month of mandatory vacation to travel the US... Most Americans don't have that opportunity, because they don't get that much time off from their job.

>>78785196
Language barriers make it a lot harder than in the US. And depending on your job, you may not be qualified to work in a different European country without going through an arduous process to get the local certifications.
Despite the single market, it's harder for most people than just packing your shit and moving.
>>
>>78785196
For me it's mostly language barrier. Both in a social and economic context. Also even if I spoke the language, employment would be difficult since I'm a history teacher here but I doubt my post-masters teaching degree would count for anything in another country.
If I knew I wasn't gonna be homeless and starving (without relying on government handout), I would like to migrate.
>>
>>78782876
Your country is not only crowded like an ant nest, you don't even have any big cities as well. It just consists of boring small and mid-sized towns that are like 5 minutes away from each other
Your roads are so small and infestet with faggot bicyclists that they're impossible to drive on
You don't even have nature left, every single part of your country is somehow used for agricultural purposes
The climate is shitty and humid, it barely even snows in the winters
The Netherlands is such a dull and boring country holy shit
>>
>>78785780
All of your points apply to Germany as well... except the one about small roads.
>>
>>78785834
It's not as extreme as in the Netherlands though
But yeah I hate this country too
>>
I think the Netherlands is comfy as fuck.
>>
A lot of people, including Americans, don't realise that they own 259 million hectares of land. Basically every US citizen owns an amount of public land spread throughout 50 states that is the size of Argentina. Every single American is the 16th largest landowner on earth.
>>
>>78785908
The Netherlands is lovely but don't you ever miss the wild places? I could not live as you do
>>
>>78785598
>but I doubt my post-masters teaching degree would count for anything in another country.
There's this EU case law where EU nations are obliged to acknowledge mutually equivalent degrees from eachothers countries. You may be asked to follow some side courses, but your degree would be acknowledged from Ireland to Bulgaria. Especially because Flanders has education standards in line with Western Europe rather than being, say, Poland tier.
>>
>>78786141
So you don't have area specific teaching qualifications, they are ubiquitous? Then why don't all EU countries score the same on education metrics?
>>
>>78786001
If every single American owned a piece of land the size of Argentina, the cumulative land would be 53 million times the size of Russia... or two million times larger than the entire earth's surface area.
>>
>>78786262
>So you don't have area specific teaching qualifications, they are ubiquitous?
I don't have the case on hand, but I think countries are asked to examine these degrees and acknowledge equality where they find it. They can demand that for example a teaching assistant from Poland follows some extra courses/tests if he wants to teach in the Netherlands, but he cannot legally be straight up rejected for not having the right papers (unlike for example a teaching assistant from Russia).
>>
>>78786347
They own that much together, not each one individually

American outdoorsmanship are traditions passed on father-to-son from pioneering and mountain-men days...also from fighting the natives.

Mexican tradition is just being shitty tourists of national parks and wooded areas.

It's why /out/ constantly complains about seeing spics fishing from rivers and streams in city parks, and blaring their shitty Mexican music at campsites.

Unless you are part of the bottom-rung of society, i.e. the dumbest 25%, you have no reason to dislike the American economic system. Every middle-class American lives a richer life than our middle-class could ever dream of living. Adding further fuel to the fire is American political freedom, of which we have minimal amounts, largely thanks to a long history of feudalist politics and disastrous 20th century communist idealism.

It´s dying, not dead, as opposed to the Finnish dream, which died a miscarriage.

Nothing wrong with the Constitution of the United States of America. God bless the Bill of Rights, and may God continue pissing on the Finnish legal code.

Try Kungsleden. Sarek national park is pretty much the only untouched place in Europe (Russia excluded)
>>
>>78782876
European cities are comfy and they way they're designed makes them all unique. American cities are boring and all look the same and the "culture" is trash. Also pickups are fucking ugly. Most Americans probably only use the back to put their groceries. Yea and driving in the desert is boring.

Don't get brainwashed by Am*rican propaganda.

Sounds great, but isn't the Finnish language strange and difficult to learn?

Lots of untouched places in Norway too. Lots. It's nice to live in a country that isn't packed with a trillion people.

16/km^2

Why are Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Sweden such nice places with low population density?
>>
>>78797891
Yes, you need to take vacation lest employer is deemed tyrant.
>>
>>78795094
Yeah Finnish is difficult but most of the Finns I meet and that work at my workplace speak English quite well and I do my best to learn Finnish through apps etc and learn the jargon of my trade.

IIRC that's only some European countries. Germany hasn't forced the same laws on all of them yet.
>>
>>78798063
Now they do tho, unfortunately.
>>
Problem with the United States is that it has a lot of nature but a lot of land, and many of the famous natural sites are hundreds or thousands of miles apart

My area is at euro-tier density anyway do not much nature. I suggest the Smoky Mountains/Appalachians and the West(Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, etc.)
>>78798010
Be glad your government looks out for workers even if it seems ridiculous. Americans get screwed over by employers/underregulated capitalism all the time especially after 2008. Not a commie but we need to go to the left fiscally.

I got from your post that you thought Norway gave too much vacation time.

Our right-wing fiscal policies have some benefits(relatively low taxes) but many drawbacks, like going bankrupt from a chronic illness like cancer. I know the taxes suck in the Nordics but the benefits are just tremendous. I don't think we have the capability to completely emulate a European-style system but we need to start going in that direction through universal healthcare, maternity leave, etc. instead of continuing to fall for the anti-communist psyop shit from the Cold War.

I'm not sure yet If I'm talking to the same Finn still so I'll quote myself.

I also hate how packed the Netherlands is and how flat and boring. That's why I have moved to Northern Finland to enjoy the nature, drive hours on roads and not meet a single car, hike hours and not meet a single personen. And soon the Northern Lights will come and dance for me.

Comfy as fuck. Sometimes a trip to Norway or Sweden for a change of pace.

I like Finland ofcourse. I have been here last year on a Scouting camp and been here in the spring twice and ever since I was a child and learned about the North I wanted to go and live there. So I did it. Tired of the crowded hasty life of the Netherlands.
