The only goal of America in that war was to stop the British from forcing our merchants into service in THEIR Navy.
And we accomplished that

Invading Canada was just a side effect of the war. We didn't even send the regular army into Canada it was just a bunch of local militias.

Canada would have fallen easily if we'd concentrated all of our troops and seized the main road to Quebec City which would cut off the interior from the outside world and starved them out. They instead launched a three pronged invasion that could not possibly work.

Like I said it was a side effect. We had no interest in Canada, we just wanted to prove we weren't to be messed with.

The war basically birthed both American and Canadian nationalism.

Honestly one of the best things to happen to the country.

-Lost no territory.

-British blockade forced a domestic market to develop, less reliance on importing everything from the British and Europe.

-The issue of impressment ceased to be an issue once Napoleon was defeated.

-Attained favorable land deals with the Brits, who stopped supporting the Indians against us.

-Cucked Canada out of land.

-Realized having an army and navy was not only practical, but necessary. The early United States was against having a large standing army, even more so a navy.

We were press ganging American sailors for the banter of it, and the yanks got pissy and took their anger out on Canada who did nothing wrong. So us and the Canucks brutally parred the yanks, sent their shitty little president literally running away. Our glorious officers marched into the White House, had a glass of the president's finest wine, then burnt the fucker to the ground. The yanks signed the Treaty of Ghent ending the war but before the news reached New Orleans a bunch of British soldiers got defeated in battle by the yank garrison. Despite the fact that the war had already legally ended, yanks think they won the war (although their capital got burnt to the ground and they failed to gain any territory) because of this battle.
