If I have this is an unusually boring and vivid dream. Yesterday I went to bed around 10am and woke up at 5. This is an annoying sleep pattern to have since it means I miss out on a lot of the daytime posts and have to wait for things to pick up in the evening, and then I'm left doing nothing all night.

I know the feeling, but sometimes it's comforting staying up all night just playing games and watching streams.

Speaking of dreams I had a weird /éire/ related dream last night, it was really gay: We had an /éire/ meetup and there was like 5 of us there. We were showing off our painted toe nails, mine weren't painted but two peoples were pink and black.
There was also a black guy there and we were all really drunk and flirty.
Also we went to some beach in Dublin, but it was more like woodstown beach in Waterford
>beaches on rivers
(pic related, btw never swim in the river suir its filthy).
Also there was somebody looking for the Xanax factory in Kilkenny but it closed down.

It was a really stupid dream.

Just looking at the Trevor Deely thread on After Hours has quickly reminded me how insufferable boards was.

>>
>>78675536
>The days of listening to Dobbo saying something and accepting it as fact are long gone.
That is very true, and it's definitely opened up more avenues for good while closing avenues for bad, it's just that instead of Dobbo and a message set from the top are increasingly set by clickbait articles written by 20-something females Dobbas competing with each other for leftist brownie points. It takes more effort to get outside the media-created world at the same time as people are drawn deeper into it.

I read a book called "Understanding Media" by Marshall McLuhan a while back, it is insightful as to how modern society has developed and is going to develop now that the written word and even the relatively static or self-contained world of images is being replaced by a more complete artificial media environment.
In the past, absorbing more and newer information had a greater return on investment, but now there's diminishing returns from that and it's all about being able to "swim" through information and experience as it's coming towards you, and to exercise judgement in what information you take in.

They can't be slapped back to reality. The only thing that would slap them into reality is if the media environment in which they live turned against them, which won't happen because 98% of them are uselessly boring and plain and the other 2% are forgettably boring, at most like small-time criminals in the papers.

That mostly happens when games either don't have enough mechanics to add something new for the boss, or doesn't scale the difficulty well.
What's worst is when they give a boss quick-time events. Putting a horde of enemies in place of a boss is only slightly better, and even then, it had better be done differently than regular horde battles (such as giving you over-powered skills for the duration of that battle).

Best of both worlds then. Here we get most of the benefits the UK Amazon provides, but not all. So long as NI gets cucked out of them too it's not so bad.

>just amazon.com products with weird google translated texts
Some old books I've looked for were computer-scanned from out-of-print books and reprinted with very little input on cheap paper. If there are amazon.com English language products being auto-translated into German it's probably cheap cash-grab companies trying to scam people, because most big books should have authorised translations done by hand. It's not amazon themselves who cheaply auto-translate, is it?

>>78681436

Apart from computer parts the only things I've heard of being unique/better value shipped from Germany are German language books (damn I wish I could read) and the occasional specialist thing from small German companies.

>>
>>78681914
I'm not sure if it applies to everything, but NI requires shipping across the sea, meaning they can't just throw it in to the governmental post and have them drive it to the customers, they have to take it on a boat or plane, and heavy or dangerous items can't be taken on planes most of the time.

How does NI get cucked out of them? I often get things shipped to a post office over the border because shipping is much cheaper than getting it to the Republic. The Republic are the ones getting cucked. Just today my sister was SCAMMED out of €10 by An Post under the guise of "customs charge" because she made the mistake of getting something delivered to our actual address

Whats going on?
>>78684711
It is mostly old people who have direct debits set up from 10 years ago and forgot about them. I think there are some really good charities out there, and good people who do great work and volunteer their time, but some charities are corrupt and are basically fronts to reel in millions for their CEO's, as we saw with Console last year. It's a shame because they did good work.
Wouldnt donate a penny to the likes of the mega charities you see on TV though.

I'd rather donate to the local stuff like pieta house, RNLI, and animal sanctuaries etc.
I've always wanted to do some (more) charity work with homeless or animals but I don't really have the time.
>>78684836
They popped up about 10 years ago in Waterford for a bit but quickly faded away. It's only really a Dublin thing now I imagine.
I just say "no", and if they persist I'll literally tell them to fuck off.
>>78684943
>It's the ones at the church gates that annoy me.
I've done church gate collections before. The likes of St Vincents de Paul can fuck off because they get permission from the church and can do it practically every week whenever they like. But every other charity has to apply to the Gardai to do it, and only get 1 weekend per year to do it. We have to carry permits.
It's not like they beg or anything. Just stand there with a bucket and if people put a couple coins in thank them.
Never want to do it again though its a bit humiliating.

Do they? I've never begged. We're strictly not allowed to beg. We're not allowed even stand inside the church grounds although you might get away with standing a couple meters inside the gate.
I feel you're thinking of the likes of st vincent de paul and the other catholic charities that can beg all they want.
Every charity including RSPCA and community groups etc can apply for church gate collections and its a big income for them. I wouldn't tarnish all these charities for merely doing whats necessary to get funding.
It has nothing to do with gate keeping.
Bit strange you'd say that though considering the catholic church themselves are the biggest culprits of exchanging money and being corrupt out of any organisation.

Once. They keep the church up and running. Where do you think their money comes from?

>Why does this trigger you two so hard?
You seem far more triggered whenever the church is brought up. I just don't like you spewing shit.
>>
>>78687263
Why is what I said so hard for you to comprehend? Plates go around, money is exchanged to help keep the church going. Some churches do it once, I've known a few to do it twice from my experience.
Trocaire come into primary schools and hand out the boxes for donations.
Charities stand at church gates hoping for a generous person to throw them a few coins.
There is very little in the difference. It's another way of an organisation to raise funds. Religious or not.
Your criticism of charities being "dubious effectiveness and perhaps even honesty are the gatekeepers" can be applied to the church just as easily.
Fucking hell lad.

Give them a break it's been a slow news week. Fuck why couldn't Best Korea nuke Guam?
It also does look pretty severe from the footage they showed. There was a storm near me a few years ago with concrete paths torn from the ground, I thought that was extreme at the time but it was nothing compared to what they're showing up north.

Do you ever think about getting involved in organised crime, or just petty stuff?
I mean shoplifting small stuff is handy and all but I think smashing car windows for valuables would be a nice earner too, and a bit of a buzz.
Don't think I'd like to break into houses though. If I did I wouldn't leave a mess.

To be fair the Shannon is a great river. Very resourceful, lots of fish, energy, tourism, navigation and of course the longest river.
BUT!
>wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide
I think you'll find the Suir is much wider, deeper, and faster. It's one of the fastest in the country, and is about 20meters deep. It's terrifying. It's a complete death trap and it's so wide along mooncoin, narrows to go through the valley in the city and then widens out again.
Unlike the Shannon which is a little stream through limerick.
Anybody who enters the river Suir dies lad....plus we have car ferries, and cliffs with a bunch of pylons on each side. It's the little things anon. Pic related.

Besides, we have great character. We're like New Yorkers in the sense that we're tough and headstrong. You can hear it in our accent.

Doesn't work that way. All about the passion and warfare, not having a "nice" game.
What makes good competivie Ulster football matches the best in the country. Physical affairs that are tribal in nature. What the GAA is all about.
Who would watch a Kerry Dublin game without picking a side in the rural urban conflict?

Maybe if you are from a shithole like Connacht. Munster is wealthy and top tier in most sports.
The sterotype of Munster rugby players showing more pride in playing for their province than the national team didn't come out of nowhere.

>>78695656
Ireland and the GAA is very tribal in nature. The local community and club is something you are born into. Can't really pick and choose like a soccer team.
I'm sure you've heard this before and it's a bit difficult to explain.

That only really applies when your own county is playing, it's hard to pick a side in "tribal warfare" when you have no stake in either. Being closer to one than the other doesn't really cut it.
It's great to watch the intensity in Ulster games but I would never care less which one of them wins.

I don't think I ever watch a game in which I don't have a slight preference, at least for one team. 90% of the time I just support the underdog.
Really adds to the enjoyment in my eyes if you can celebrate one team scoring and feel dismay when the other team scores. Plus you get to shout at the ref for favouring the opposing side. I get pretty excited watching matches.

>Indeed he is, though I don't know a huge amount about him.
Hes been with Connacht since the days when the IRFU were trying to wind down province as it was performing poorly on the pitch and poorly supported off it. Most players of his caliber left for more money and glory in other teams but he stuck with Connacht throughout his career as they evolved from no hopers to a respectable outfit and eventually in his twilight years he lead them to doing what was once unthinkable and winning the league.
Loyalty and dedication like that is very rare in professional and it was nice to see it rewarded. I'm sure he'll be a hero in Galway for the rest of his days.

They are well past their prime. Part of me didn't want Mayo to win, despite it being the land of my ancestors, just because I feel it's wrong to break the curse without the last two men dying. It'd be more fun though if they got to the final and barely lost on account of some bullshit like some previous years.

>Think it ebbs and flows to be fair. Feel it switches every few days as to who is the meanest.
I suppose. Depends on the outcomes of recent matches mostly. I just wish I had more sons of Conn around to even the numbers.
I've noticed it's always me and you against Froggy, or me and him against you, or you two against me. There's rarely a time all three of us are on the same side.
