Pretty much everyone wanted a united India beforehand, but Jinnah decided that he wanted to lead all Muslims and effectively pushed for a separate Pakistan. You can argue that he was simply worried that the muslim minority would be oppressed in the future, but Islam isn't even native to the Indian subcontinent (unlike Hinduism and Sikhism) so there is no real reason for them to be a dominant religion. Britain and India weren't blameless, but the main instigator was Jinnah.
So like most problems with the world, Muslims are to blame.
I'd like to thank the eternal paki roach/muslim jew. Without you, my family would have never left that godforsaken subcontinent and let me be born here.
