Isn't it because of some sort of tax?
>>78591247
Too many variables
Insurance varies across provinces and drivers age/sex and KMs driven.
Bottom end insurance (PL/PD) $600/yr
Top end for say a HUMVEE (I was going to buy one) $8000/yr
$50/yr for registration
My '03 BMW 330XI costs me $90/mo with full coverage/$2m liability under 16000 kms/yr.

actually not that expensive unless you live in a no-driveway-no-garage urban shit house.
insurance here is crazy cheap compared to countries with loose driving tests and fucked up teen drivers, and the only annual taxes are like $1000 maximum in total as long as you are an exotic fan.
Also you must have your car thoroughly inspected after three years for a brandnew car and every two years for else. Each costs like 1000 (domestic family cars) ~2000 (import luxury cars)
