German anons, is the German language fading away and being replaced by English?

Nein
Warum würde es?

Not really. We have adopted some word, especially pop-cultural words. The trend of Anglicisms in German language is dying out very slowly, because it's not authentic. Anyway, there are some fields like informatics for example, which require English skills of course, but this is where it ends.

no.
People outside of big cities and population hotspots are still too dumb to speak a second language fluent, even english.

Interesting
I've always heard the memes that everyone under 25 pretty much knows English

Feminists are killing it.
Have you ever heard about grammatical gender? In short: every word in its base form a gender but it doesn't have much to do with whether something has a dick or a cunt. Additionally you can add suffixes to explicitly point out that something is female (-in) or male (-er). e.g. a female anon would be an anonin.
To get back to the point: feminists deemed it sexist that most professions and occupations are "male" words. So nowadays, in higher education or scientific papers whenever you talk about a group of people you always have to mention it twice. Reading something like
>...A group of ten scientistins and scientists recently conducted an experiment with 100 studentins and students on the effects of...
for hundreds of pages really hurts the reading flow

Everybody is able to perform basic communication. People who went to highschool, yes, they pretty much know English, but someone who started an apprenticeship at the age of 15 after middle school and never needs English in his daily life... will probably be fine with a fluent conversational partner who can lead, but not with someone who's equally inexperienced.

What a horrible language
>>78577869
Doesn't seem to be by my view. Lots of Europeans speak it.
I hope not, I'm not a big fan of English, especially when it's spoken by non-anglos (or Americans)

Short answer: No.
Long answer: No.

If a tourist starts asking you something in English, will you refuse to answer in English and pretend you can't speak it?
>>78587442
No, I'll try to help him and use this as an opportunity to practice my english pronunciation.
You may have misunderstood my post, friend, not being a huge fan of a language doesn't mean I'll try to be an ass to whoever speaks it, it's just a personnal thing
