Nah, we just have a culture that accepts no corruption at all and had a government with actual foresight. They secured vast territories of the north sea (intended for fish), we were and still are one of the worlds top exporters of military technology and production and made bank from lumber and silver production.

When we around 1969 realized that there might be oil in the north sea we refused to have american companies pump it up for us, and instead got american engineers to create the first batch of norwegian oil engineers. This way none of the revenue from oil went into foreign companies, but rather into the state run Statoil.
