Also, quick reminder that although Ukrainian has 4000 borrowings from Turkic languages whilst Russian only 2000, Ukrainian still has 92 (or 94%) of vocabulary of Slavic origin, Russian's got only 86% of vocabulary of Slavic origin (a lot of borrowings from German, Dutch, French and Latin, also used in common speech)

The main problem is that there is no actually any full-scale etymological database of the Russian language (let alone Ukrainian) at all. It seems like it was never created in the first place. Some etymological dictionaries exist, but we can't fully trust any of them because different authors may use different criteria on which words should be included in the dictionary.
