No, there is conjugation but I guess it might be less noticeable until you get properly into it.
I've heard it's one of the most confusing things to learn, I don't remember how it was learning it myself (parents were Texan-Norwegian and Norwegian so I grew up speaking Norwegian in my household and getting extra learning at school).

Basically, nynorsk is based on western dialects and bokmål is based on riksmål (which in turn is Norwegianized Danish) and resembles eastern dialects more.
Bokmål is more dominant so I just use it so everyone understands me.
