It was clear from the beginning that I will accept no city other than Limerick as capital

No. All a capital entails is having the government offices there. Moving that away from the crowded slime pit that Dublin is would be a good idea. Let them live on the strength of their industry and trading capacity, not the benefits of being the seat of government.

>>78488273
No. Every city should have the infrastructure it needs.
>>
>>78488458
Never been to Limerick but it seems to be the most underrated city. It has a lot in it: 2 big stadiums, 2 of the tallest buildings, university, IT, hospital, League of Ireland team and a port for sea access. People look too much into the scumbags
>>
>>78488621
>and a port for sea access
Limerick's port is shite though. Cork has a much better one. In fact Cork has most of the things you listed as attributes of Limerick, yet lacks the chronic knacker issue.
>>
Waterford has all those things too ya know.
>>
>>78488565
Yes, but the conversation doesn't serve any sort of purpose if we're just talking about which building politicians should meet in. It could be in a shack on Achill island for all it matters.
Moving the capital and seat of government is usually symbolic for a strategy in diverting resources to an area with greater growth potential.

I wouldn't really call it an "issue", let alone a chronic one. There are a couple of council housing estates in peripheral areas that are best avoided but that's about it.
I'm not exaggerating to say that I encountered more anti-social behaviour last year from one weekend in Dublin than an entire year in Limerick.

>>
>>78488890
>I'm not exaggerating to say that I encountered more anti-social behaviour last year from one weekend in Dublin than an entire year in Limerick.
But I was comparing Limerick to Cork, not Dublin. Cork's anti-social issues are far more contained to a handful of housing estates, whereas there are even dodgy areas in Limerick's city centre.

I would generally consider Ireland a safe country outside of Dublin. Cork is probably abnormally safe for a city of its size but I consider the distinction between extremely safe and very safe, I'd have no concerns walking around at night in either while I would in Dublin.

>whereas there are even dodgy areas in Limerick's city centre
Which do you mean?
>>
>>78489147
>Which do you mean?
Limerick has a nice city centre - during the day. Having been around Dublin, Limerick, and Cork at night on a number of occasions over the years, Dublin made me feel the most unsafe, but Limerick wasn't far behind. As you said, for an urban centre of its size, Cork is abnormally safe both during the day and during the night.

>I still don't understand the outrage about that. Trump condemned the violence that was taking place - that's pretty reasonable as far as I am concerned.
It was a weak statement which failed to condemn the ideology and principles behind the KKK. Given his background and who his chief strategist was the American public are especially concerned with what could have been seen as a sympathetic stance towards those groups.
It'd be like a muslim politician in a western country responding to ISIS terrorism with "I condemn the murder of civilians, but the airstrikes in Syria are bad too..."

There's no choice to be made, he simply had to condemn groups with an ideology of hatred towards other citizens. A speech is more than just the words, it's the subtext as well. What was not said is just as important.
He did eventually condemn them by name, as did Bannon which acknowledged the mistake in not doing it to begin with.

I was making a joke about their professions. Knackers were people who take dead farm animals off your hands while tinkers were people that collected bits of tin and melded them down. Both were common jobs travelers had in the old days.

They find knacker more offensive. I remember on a documentary one said that calling a traveler a knacker is the same as calling a black man a nigger.

>I wonder when and why it happened that they started turning to crime and being a general nuisance to settled people
Probably when jobs like that became unprofitable. People didn't have any need or want of their getting their pots and pans repaired when they have the money to replace them easier. Some did have modern ways of making money though, my granny used to buy furniture from them as late as the 90's.

Oh fuck I remember my weird dream last night. I landed on a planet in another universe in a small room. It was dark and fogged with yellow smoke. There was a person in a gas mask sitting curled up. He stayed perfectly still until I walked passed him, then he stood up and moved towards me. Then he took off his mask and the smoke cleared. A tall man with gelled blonde hair, he spoke to me in a language I didn't understand but we found some words to communicate with. He took out a flag that was almost identical to the Spanish flag. It changed occasionally, sometimes it had the coat of arms in the center which was similar to the Spanish coat of arms but different slightly, sometimes it had a horizontal black or blue bar through the middle. I discovered I was on an alternate Earth in Australia. Perhaps this was a world where Spain colonised Australia but I was led to believe in the dream that this was where the Spaniards were from. I thought this sounded wrong since any natives to Australia would be far darker skinned. At this point I became suspicious of this world and especially the blonde man who seemed to be either withholding information or lying to me. I tried escaping and the dream ended soon after.

There are good tie-in games. Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy The Mis-Edventures, Spider-Man 2, Lego Star Wars, etc.

In Dublin at the moment. Thetrs rubbish every where, all over the streets. Smell of nothing but Chinese food and sewage too. Place looks derelict.

No I'm in a vehicle. The whole side of the road every where you went well a just filthy. Littered with glass, plastic, bits of wood etc. All the house and flat blocks were the same outside them. Covered with rubbish, graffiti, is falling apart.
This isn't a thing in other Irish towns and cities. Even in the bad parts of other cities the main roads are clean bar the deep housing estates.
>>
>>78499561
It doesn't surprise me, the place is a kip. There's even a certain stench you don't get anywhere else.

Saw a deer running along the motorway in Kildare. I've seen the signs for them all my life but this is genuinely the first time I've seen an actual one. I always presumed they had all died out due to Kildare not being wild at all anymore.
Doubt it'll last much longer desu. prob will get hit by a car.
>>
>>78500313
I've seen them in the breaks in the trees before though most of the area is fenced so I'm sure they don't get out on the road very often. Hopefully it found its way back to safety again.

The airstrikes in Syria killed civilians?
>>
>>78500570
It's the worst county in the country, filled with satellite towns which look identical and are virtually empty at all times. The only reason anybody lives there is because it's cheaper than Dublin to own a house. It's Dublin in all but name.

In fact if you wanted a snapshot of the problems with modern urban life you can see them all in Kildare from the lack of identity, no community, ugly and repetitive aesthetics, horrible commutes and no history in a place where villages have become like large towns in the space of a generation.
>>
>>78500172
There's hardly any people left in Venice, it's all tourists. Dublin is overcrowded with D*bs.

I had the pleasure of meeting Howth last summer in one of the National Socialist workshops in Dublin. Various right wing Irishmen had gathered from across all the 32 counties to meet in the Temple Bar. The meeting was top secret, and only the upper echelons of the alt-right community were privy to the time and location. Soros and his hired goons had no knowledge of the situation. His intelligence network is growing progressively weaker by the day - but I digress. Howth was a giant of a man. Standing at 6'4 with eyes and blue as the sea and hair as golden as Sinai Desert, he was impossible to ignore. He spoke with a air solemnity that compelled every man in the room to listen with ardour. Howth mentioned plans of revolution, underground sleeper cells, seizure of the Dáil, all of them well thought out and articulated with a cunning outside of any mortal mans ken. I expect to see a Catholic monarchy any day now with Howth himself as supreme high king of Ireland.

I had to work to finish up quicker. When I was 13 I used to edge for hours. Spending more than five hours at a time wanking is not satisfying.

I've never spent over €200 on a phone in my life because the risk of damage is too much to bear. But my current phone is ancient and there are some apps I need/want that it can't run. I want something mid-range, but the problem I'm encountering that all the phones on the market today seem to be these massive things that will barely fit in my pocket and seem like they might snap in half if you look at them funny. I don't need half the features they offer anyway.

Of all the immigrants Ireland has received, the Poles and the Baltics bother me the least. In general they make an effort to learn English, work hard, and integrate fairly well. I've never understood why British people get so worked up about Polish immigrants when they have so many more problematic nationalities coming in from abroad.
>>
>>78526255
I suppose I feel similarly about that as I do on Hotpoint cookers being a more popular means of preparing food than a fulacht fiadh. One is a reality of modern life and the other is something which belongs in ancient history with no practical usage anymore.
>>
>>78526334
Because it'd be waycist to complain about the problematic immigrants, and it lets people with their minds in an old faux-imperialist mindset do some autistic screeching about Poland causing WW2 (instead of themselves).

>>
>>78526255
A reflection of how Irish people are lazy. The Irish language is fully alive in some pockets and is a well documented language so it's theoretically possible to revive it like how was done with Hebrew. The fact that Irish people act nationalistic yet haven't made a real effort to learn Irish shows it all. They blame it on the poor schooling yet none of them take the time to learn it in their own time.

>>78526312
I think Belfast is a nicer city than Dublin personally. The Troubles are over, nobody is going to deck you for being British
>>
>>78526334
>I've never understood why British people get so worked up about Polish immigrants when they have so many more problematic nationalities coming in from abroad.
Because those countries belong in the commonwealth and it'd be a bit rich for them (although not beyond them) to colonise a nation, instill the values of the British monarch within them and then complain when they come to live in the motherland.

I have a Zenfone 2, which I bought for about €300 two years ago. I'm not an expert on phones but these seem to have decent specs for the price. I think you can find it on Ebay now for like €150, so it appears to have had a fairly significant price reduction as I don't think it sold very well, or else some fell off the back of a truck and some knackers got their hands on them.

>risk of damage is too much to bear

Autists like ourselves treat our phone like a submarine boat. Fragile and needs to be handled with care, but a deadly weapon under the right circumstances.

That's pretty autistic. The biggest risk to my phone is when I snooze the alarm in the morning and leave it on the duvet of my bed somewhere and then it ends up being flung against the wall or onto the ground when I wake up 10 minutes later in a panic because I'm already late.

>I've never had a phone that didn't fit. Slight exaggeration pops.
True, but I prefer to have a phone that fits comfortable in the pockets of my jeans so that it won't feel like it's gonna snap in half every time I bend over.

Just put it out of reach so you have to get out of bed and get up to turn off the alarm.
Or just buy a strong case for it if you really need to, or perhaps look at those nearly "indestructible" phones.
