I party pretty much every Friday/Saturday, and I have never once seen someone put ice cubes in their beer. You would get laughed out of the room.

"Real ale" is served at cellar temperature which is colder than room temp. Any colder and the beer starts losing it's life. It's not like a keg'd beer which is jacked up with CO2
