I like it honestly. I view it as something that is necessary to keep world peace as well as to prevent foreign countries from commiting mass crimes like so many powers did in the 18th, 19, and 20th centuries. A lot of people argue that no American should die to protect a foreign person, but in my honest opinion no one in this country is forced into the military, they know what they're signing up for. They know that they may be forced to do anything from fight some war in the ME, to defend the homeland, all the way to fucking invade London. I personally would be willing to go to war if it was against a country that was comiting terrible crimes against it's own people, or was threatening global security/stability. But that may just be me.
I also understand the argument that "we spend to much money on it" but frankly we only spend ~600 billion, and while that's a lot to most countries it's really nothing to the U.S it's barely a 20th of our overall GDP and we spend more of a percent on pretty much every major aspect of the economy.
