Every friend I've ever had with this mentality always ended up depressed and overworked. Plus, most jobs really just care that you have a degree. Uni is also great for making connections which will also help get you a job.

Also I'm going for electrical engineering which is kinda competitive so if I just don't even go to uni I likely won't ever get a good job.
