what is whiteness? why aren't ashkenazis or white arabs white, but slavs, irish, and italins are white even though they have different physical features/traits, cultures, and values compared to what's considered traditionally white (germanic)

European genetic distance cluster. Ashkenazi Jews are genetically close to southern Italians and Greeks. If you want an objective criterion, you should ignore self-identification. Jews identify as white whenever it's convenient.
