I see nothing wrong with this except what this guy said >>78326546
>>
>>78326319
That looks like an exciting neighborhood
>>
the only weird thing about that is that so many of the houses don't have a fence around their yard
>>
>>78326319
>needing to hop on your car to go anywhere that matters
>>
>>78327461
we love our cars. i don't see a problem. still better than europoors riding their bicycles to work.
>>
>>78326319
the modern world scares me
why do things like this have to exist?
>>
>>78327518
Suburbs fucking suck and your a semen guzzling faggot.
>>
>>78327541
So that the jews can placate the masses.
>>
>>78327550
suburbs are good tier so you need to kys poorfag scum.
>>
>>78326319
I love these american neighborhoods desu, they show what extreme limits poor people will push themselves to in order to 'own' a 'big' house
>500m block
>no fences
>housing association that actually wields power than the home owner over everything exterior to the house
>shitty construction (asphalt roof, duplicate style to neighbours, glorified plywood shack)
>no community centre like shops or even a small park
>above ground pools
these suburbs are the new ghettos and the people living there think they're so close to upper class, its tasty
>>
>>78327583
I live in a "nice" suburb you dumb nigger because I dont have a choice atm.
>>
>>78327782
What's the alternative? High density housing like in asia? No thanks.
>>
>>78327908
where would you live if you had a choice, asswipe? trump tower?
>>
>>78326319
I don't really see the problem. Kinda boring but it's great urban planning.
>>
>>78327947
If I could get a good job nearby and I had the money then Id love to.

A-smurf-a-what?

Every house is double story? So all your neighbours can see into your backyard.

Hmmm. I need my privacy when I do my nude sunbaking.
>>
who decided to make huge specific areas with only housing and no stores? its so dumb, why not at least put restaurants or supermarkets, so people dont have to drive for EVERYTHING
>>
>>78328142
How would you even carry your groceries home on a fucking bicycle?
>>
>>78328142
Cities in America pre-WWII were like European cities in that they were dense and walkable throughout. After the war, auto popularity surged and real estate developers startes building suburbs to conform to the auto-dominant lifestyle. Big Auto lobbyists pushed for governments to cut spending on mass transit infrastructure so that people would gradually be forced to adopt a car-centric life.

seriously nothing wrong with this way of living

Literally everything is wrong about it. Youre just stupid.

The fact that there's barely any plants whatsoever and not even hedges between the houses is what triggers me the most

Most Canadian cities have pretty good public transit though. Even Calgary which is nothing but cul-de-sacs has an amazing transit system.
>>
>>78328388
>forced
people LOVE their cars.
>>
>>78328527
Just the fact you don't have fucking noisy neighbors makes a huge difference. It is fucking convenient.
>>
>>78328752
>Canadian cities
>good public transit
what kind of drug are you on?

Maybe it's good by American standards, but it's still absolute dogshit.
>>
>>78328752
Their public transit system is very similar to many of our major cities.
>>
>>78328773
>people LOVE their cars.
we do but we don't like spending hours sitting in traffic
most cities are in need of good public transport
>>
>>78328833
what is "good" in your book?
>>
>>78328878
i can't speak for every city but chicago is alright. metra goes to lots of remote suburbs. what else do you need? a lot of people still drive though.
>>
>>78328884
What many Western Yuro countries have, for example
>>
>>78328971
what specifically do you lack, frequency, coverage? what?
>>
>>78328833
>>78328846
This is the bus map for Calgary. As you can see, it covers nearly the entire built up area with frequent service

>>78328956
Ah yes, Me"only runs every two hours outside of the rush"tra
>>
>>78329166
This is the bus map for Atlanta. Despite Atlanta being much larger, most residents don't have a bus within walking distance - assuming the bus is even running at all, which it likely isn't that time of day in the surrounding suburbs.
>>
>>78329166
because it is a commuter train, duh.
>>
>>78329035
coverage is sometimes a problem, but not always

Service quality and frequency are pretty much always problems, though.

>>78329166
>with frequent service
this is a flat out lie
>>
>>78329250
Yes, but that's still absurd and by no means good transit

>>78329255
>this is a flat out lie
>service every 30 minutes on most lines even on sundays
lol
>>
>>78327782
Don't forget the 50 year mortgage on their house and car that they'll probably lose once the next recession hits
>>
>>78329400
>30 minutes
>acceptable
this is why North American public transportation is such a fucking joke
>>
>>78329478
only 50? make it a 100

also, here's a specific example, comparing Glasgow and Calgary. Both cities have a similar metropolitan population.

In both cases, the trip involves leaving from the suburbs towards the city center, roughly 10 km as the crow flies, leaving at 9:00 AM local time. Now compare the time it takes: 33 minutes for Glasgow compared to 55 minutes for Calgary.

And this is despite the fact that Glasgow is a shithole with 3rd-world-tier public transportation by European standards.
>>
>>78328199
i can easily carry one bag when biking or use a backpack
in fact its only 3 minutes walking to the closest grocery store or supermarket, i dont really need a bike
>>
>>78328473
Suburbs are fine, but that in the OP is more like a horizontal commie block. Good suburbs are small and packed tastefully off of main roads, they're built around the natural geography instead of being sectioned off 10 minutes driving distance from anything in a big ass flat field with hardly any trees, they're within walking distance of everything people need like schools and stores and churches, and most importantly they look like normal neighborhoods and not what a 10 year old would make playing Sim City on an SNES.
>>
I've never heard an argument against suburbs which isn't the same tired, stale stuff repeated ad nauseum since the 1950s. You may as well just read Henry Miller's "The Air Conditioned Nightmare" and be done with it.
>>
>>78326319
not even the worst suburbs, at least there are sidewalks
>>
>>78329547
50? It's 30.
>>78327782
>no fences
This is good. I don't see the need for a fence.
>Housing association
They have lots of legal limits, and you aren't force into them. They are like the Unions of suburban living.
If you don't want to be part of the association, and have enough money to make your own repairs and shit like that you can do as you please.
>no ccomunity centre like shops or even a small park
As someone who lives in florida, and have lakes, parks, and thousands of shops. I don't get what you are talking about.
Suburban areas=/=Rural areas.
Suburbs are small cities of their own.
>above ground pools
Everyone here has ground pools, but I don't really like them.
I would rather set up an above ground pool for a day or two, and have a big back yard, rather than building a pool, and have shit fall on it all the time. Cleaning it is annoying.

The everglades is right in the background.
If you need need a park want some adventure.
There is also lots of parks and golf fields in the area.
There is fish in many of those lakes so, you can spend a day with the family if you wanted to and fish.
