Are people in your country religious?

Depends on the region.
The majority of the country is agnostic / atheist / believes in something but don't know what.
Catholics are the biggest religion, but they often don't even believe in God. For the majority it's just a social event.
Protestants are hardcore Christians. Some Dutch villages are literally sharia-tier Christians.
Muslims say they are religious, but I never see them following the rules of the Islam.
State ya name cuz
Depends on the region, in the West somewhat but not really, regular church attendance rates are very low, only about 6%. People just stay in the church out of laziness.
In the East? Eastern Germany is the least religous place in the world and religion will go completely extinct with my generation.

I thought Japan was really religious?
Is that just Shintoism being weird?

Despite the memes, not really.
Catholicism is embedded in our culture and has a strong presence in our language (phrases, proverbs, etc.), but religion per se is often viewed with scepticism.
