Kurds never had a independent state in their history, they always lived as minorities in someome elses empire. The ottomans build diyarbakir and urfa and today kurds claim all these cities for themselves. They didn't do anything besides making children and being illiterate peasants.
If it wasn't for Islam the ottomans would have purged the kurds centuries ago like they did with the assyrians and pontu greeks.
