But I'm wondering why European union is awarding those kind of prices to cities out of the EU.
Is it a diplomatic move?
Aren't Serbian completely against EU and European integration?

vojvodina was serbian until the turks came, then it became pretty much empty when the turks left
then it became a multicultural environment, having an almost equal amount of germans, hungarians and serbs (and quite a few local minorities)

To be fair, back then we didn't partake in nearly as much EU dick sucking as we do now. They've no reason to say no this time around aside from the butthurt ex-yu countries who are already in throwing a tantrum.
