the US doesn't have a universal age of consent, I have absolutely no fucking idea where you people get this idea that it's 18 everywhere here. In most states it's 16-17, some lower than that. Only a few have it at 18. It's not something the federal government decides, neither is the driving age, neither is the smoking age, neither is the drinking age.
