I know that Australians have a reputation of being boisterous, but I just realised that I cannot name even a single thinker, writer, philosopher, or intellectual from that country. Can you recommend me some?
one strange thing is that their intellectuals are very unassuming and their media personalities clout their conscious, but they do have plenty of scientific literature so someone must be making them
They did had intelectuals but most of them die young punched to death by a kangaroo or eated by a crocodile.

Many moved to the UK for a start. Also we have many writers that are famous here, they haven't achieved international recognition however because we are irrelevant and too young a nation. Also as >>78078815 pointed out we contribute a fair amount to the scientific world given our size, although I'm not sure if scientists fit the typical description of an "intellectual". I agree we don't really have any great "thinkers" but they're overrated anyway and who gives a shit.

Yeah they're not very showy, but we've got a fair list of really good medical and engineering inventors- black boxes, pacemaker, bionic ear, spray on skin, wifi, several vaccines (cervical cancer and stomach ulcers) and pioneered the early use of penicillin. Lot of our nobel laureates are usually in medicine or physics
