How did they go so strong? In my opinion, the British islands and particularly England because it's the biggest one, have contributed the most to the world.

Anglicanism is mainly limited to England and Wales, which, at the time, wasn't nearly as large a percentage of the population as it is now. Scotland and Northern Ireland are predominantly Presbytarian, which is a branch of Protestantism. The Scots, Welsh and the Irish also made up a disproportionate amount of the Armed Forces of the UK at it's peak and of the New World settlers.
