It does desu. I'd conquered Novgorod and integrated everyone except Perm and the lowest one that doesn't start off as a vassal, but I got too proud and made myself defender of the faith too early, got involved in the Ottoman invasion of Byzantium, and got my max force limit 45 army deleted by 30 Ottomans in Trebizond.
Then the Kalmar Union invaded through Karelia and I was only able to fob them off with 29 warscore worth of Karelia. As soon as the truce was over with them, they invaded along with the PLC and I was toast.

>>
>>77901290

>>77901145
Something less of a challenge and more of a "gimmick"?
I've been wondering what it would be like to play tall as a colonial nation, but I don't like Holland, Flanders has default German(!?) ideas, and Burgundy's basically France-lite. And I can't resist the temptation to colonist-spam with Portugal... maybe if I set myself the house rule that I couldn't touch the New World, it would be an interesting game, but I haven't got MoH so I fear going into Asia would be missing all the features from that.

I decided on Ethiopia, it's going well enough now (1484). Rushed techs before ideas (to avoid the institution penalty), went for economic ideas. Had 2 zealot kings so I commissioned an inquisitor and got all my provinces Coptic.
Don't know if Coptic is OP if you don't use it in a gamey way. Though I suppose 10% manpower recovery speed, 1.5% missionary boost are very powerful on the aggro, while they might be there in the first place to make Armenia and Ethiopia survive as Coptic countries amidst the Muslim hordes.

They're strong enough at the minute. They were the ones to dismantle Qara Qonulu (or whatever), and they own both the Levant and the coastal strip of the Arabian gulf.
I'm looking more at the Muslim country to my eastern border. We're about the same size, but he's allied with the Mamluks. Once I get the chance to destroy that country and convert it to Copticism, I'll be unstoppable (unless the Ottomans appear).

You're retarded. Tons of men go to the races for drinking and betting, it's a big social event. Most lads go on Ladies' Day to pick up women. Unless you've never been to a horse race before and are judging the kind of men on the posh bois they interview for the news.
>>
>>77907261
Galway races isn't lad culture, it's women and posh types who might use some of the aesthetic or reputation of "lad culture" for their dressup party/money laundering festival.
Outside of the big meetings, it's old men and rural types.

Surprisingly enough Ireland's sports aren't too badly riddled with "lad culture", even if the beer companies and advertising industries would like to associate them.

>>77907534
Doesn't mean they're not manly though.
>>
>>77907261
>anti-intellectualism and hate towards education right?
Eh not really. It's more so the young men that love going out drinking and making loud noises. Obviously education isn't at the height of their priorities but they're not book burners or some shit. I know many "lads" that did well on their Leaving Cert and got into university. Besides people who identify as "intellectuals" tend to be cunts.
Think the kind of men that go to soccer matches, now imagine they act they way they do in the stands
>>
>>77907603
>Doesn't mean they're not manly though.
Backpeddling. Being "manly" is pathetic and most people who are obsessed with it are dangerous people.
>>
>>77907592
Fair enough, there is a big consumeristic attraction to it. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to fund or justify the main event culture, which the masses don't really influence.
Still, the "go to pick up women" element is what I was talking about. A radically different attitude to the proletarian, masculine environment of match day in Croke Park, is it not?

You might want to have a look at a map too if you think the South of the country is closer to England than the East.
The whole coast is beautiful with so many amazing beaches and cliff walks. It's really pretty too with tons of walks and lush wildlife.
Not to mention the weather down here is great.

I was asking you the question. I think you're just being contrarian for the sake of it. It's bizarre you've conjured up this random distaste for the south coast. As for my information? It's known nationally that the South of the country is gorgeous. West Cork is a hidden Gem, Kerry is Kerry as you know, the giant peninsulas.

Yes that is a catchy name used by tourist agencies. It's also literally called The Shitty South East. As for my information? It's known nationally that the south of the country is disgusting.

I don't necessarily believe that, just emphasising that you're treating your own opinion of your region as if everyone holds it.
I've never heard anyone, besides you, that's praised the south east. Whenever I hear someone talking about the coast, they bring up Clare and Kerry, both west coast areas. And while Kerry is in the south of the country its coast is western.

Bogfags are brought up to hate Dublin from a young age but then they go to college in Dublin at which point they start using Dublin slang, if they're girls they might adopt a D4 accent to some degree and start going to the generic student nightclubs which leaves them talking bad about their hometown's nightlife when they're back home for Christmas or whatever

Maybe 10 years ago, with the state of rental availability and costs in Dublin it's no longer practical to go to college there unless you're living at home if you want to have any sort of decent standard of living.
I think the reverse is beginning to happen with Dubs moving to other cities for college since it's the only way they can afford to leave home while attending.

Oh dear I thought you were here longer. Really though I wish you'd come see the sights in the west. Even if you just take a day trip to Clare that's enough to see the Burren, Ailwee Caves and the Cliffs of Moher in one day.
If you really don't want to travel far from Dublin then at least see Newgrange in Meath, it was our ancient capital and one of the oldest structures in Europe.

I'm sorry for urging you like this but our country's not very big and I don't like the thought of someone stuck in one part of it during a trip as long as your's. It would be like someone visiting Spain but never straying far from Barcelona, which I'm sure is nice but there's more to the country.

Yes actually, the strongest concentration is in the west which is why a lot of people here look swarthy. Of course some say that it's from the much more recent times when the Spanish Armada crashed off the coast and some settled here, which is why there are so many places with Spanish in their name here. Spanish Arch, Spanish Point, etc.
I believe the Romans (or maybe it was the Greeks) even noted that we looked closer to those living in Spain than we did to our other neighbours.
It's even noted in Irish mythology that the Irish people are descended from Spanish settlers thousands of years ago.

The majority of Brythonic and, by extension, Insular Celts are said to have migrated to Britain via the Iberian peninsula (rather than via Belgium as previously hypothesised) i.e. northern Spain and Portugal, that's why most people of Celtic origin have dark hair and can tend to be more swarthy. Gingers/light haired are the result of Viking/Germanic rape/mixing.

The west is much more insecure, look how sycophantic they are to the Spaniard. They need his approval.

Celtic was a cultural linguistic group and not an ethnicity. Culture moves much easier than people, especially back then when travel wasn't as easy. The insular Celts were just the people in Ireland and Britain who had adopted Celtic culture from continental Europe.
>>
>>77916035
Well these used to be anti-Dub general until the Dubs decided to start kicking up a fuss. Things were better before the Dubs started feeling insecure.

That's because Ireland and parts of Scotland got super-cucked by Vikings.

>>77916105
Brythonic Celts are very much associated with the haplogroup R1b-L21. But I suppose that's just cultural too? People migrated and brought their language, culture, and most importantly, their DNA with them. This is impossible to deny.

Na son. Roman historians described the English and Welsh Brythonic Celts as 'small and dark' but the Gauls, Picts and Gaels were all described as being tall, fair-skinned and fair-headed. A lot of Celts died their hair with lime to make it lighter and thicker but that doesn't take away from the fact that many Celts still did have light hair - for example the Romans mentioned that lots of inhabitants of Caledonia had red hair which predated the arrival of the vikings or Gaels. ln Ireland the vast majority of people have dark hair along with blue eyes and fair skin (including myself)

This. Modern insular Celts belong to the same haplogroup, are the only people along with the Basques who commonly have the rare Rh- blood type and all share the same physical features. They're objectively a distinct ethnic group separate from Germanics, Meds and Slavs. The Celts descend from the Indo-European bell beaker people who settled in BOTH the British Isles and central Europe. Art and culture are the direct products of race and are passed on generation to generation by families, not by trade. The ancient languages of the insular and continental Celts are almost identical. No matter how ancient or remote the area, the artwork of the insular and continental celts looks identical. Celtic spirals appear in Irish architecture from as early as Newgrange in 3200BC and appear in La Tene artifacts and Gaulish metallurgy. The continental Celts were different to us as Germans are different to the Danish, but the Germans and the Danish are still Germanic. The insular Celts and the continental Celts, while not totally identical, were the same people.

They're not Celtic spirals.

>>77917297
Those spirals were common in Neolithic Europe. You can see those patterns in Sardinia. The Celts just adopted theirs from it

It's 'pre-celtic' because the Celts only started getting acknowledged as a people around 800BC. The Celts descended from the indo-european bell beaker people and were spread out all over continental Europe where they left their mark. Even disregarding the Celtic spiral, if you look at carvings from the most remote Pictish tribe devoid of any other human contact and compare it to artwork by any other Celtic group there will be overwhelming similarities.

>It appears in castro culture in spanish celt settlements too btw

my point exactly
