"Standard Hungarian Transcription" is the "ki" one and "tyi" is supposed to be some new phonetic transcription. (Neither are meant for English or international readers)
But the new one was only in endnotes and the main body of work used pinyin.
That was useful, since that seems to be the correct transcription.

I'm not well versed in Chinese cinema to be honest, so I'm not sure if that's a real danger. But this movie was really good.
The only other Chinese movie I saw was Journey to the West. Which was, ehhhhhh. Suited to Chinese tastes maybe? Lot of things didn't make sense. But what really got me at the end was the message about forgiveness. That was 10/10.

I hate them for a lot of reasons as a white guy. First, let me say that there's a difference between going to China to "teach English" and going to China and actually doing honest work.
Lots of these white guys just chose to learn Mandarin for one thing: they have a fetish for Asian women. That's their priority. It might be a "natural" fetish they developed at a young age, or they're just drawn to the perceived "submissiveness" and "femininity" of Asian women. But in reality, they're weird guys who couldn't get a white woman even if they tried. Well, I want to teach in general, and China is one of the few countries with plenty of opportunities. If I decide to make it a long-term career, I can go through a proper teacher education program and get a license, which would open up more opportunities in other countries, including Canada (or a huge pay raise in China).

And if not, I'm still teaching the subjects I studied in university, so I can go to graduate school without needing as much time to brush up. I'll also have money saved up for graduate studies.

The lack of original Chinese scholarship in the US is a good example of the power of ideology. It's basically eliminated and any kind of amateur history is elevated above it. Check out the Wikipedia article on Cixi.
