you don't see Colombus (nor Europeans) going around conquering self-governing peoples and lands, while the followers of Islam are doing exactly that
it's just a bad comparison really, Colombus wasn't a conqueror, he was an explorer who wanted to find a safer route to India. even if the massacre of a couple of millions of Indios was his fault indirectly, the pros of his actions still outweigh the cons, which couldn't be said about Islam, a religion that hadn't given humanity anything good in the past 800 or so years
