>Live in London for 3 years working in software development applied to AI, pretty happy
>Get (very well paid) job offer to go live in Sydney
>I really like living in London, but Sydney is really enticing
>What to do?
Job-wise London is better, since there is better talent (due to better unis), better research (at least in AI), better companies (Deepmind, etc.).
However, I'm at a point in my life where career is not the most important thing and work/life balance and life quality is starting to be more important.
So if some aussies could help me out... What are the main perks of living in Sydney? Is it really sunny all year round there? Are people there cool with foreigners (I'm originally from Portugal). How's the art/music scene? Will it be easy to make new friendships? Etc.
Any advice is appreciated

You have to come back.

Sydney is fucking glorious. You'd be mad not to take it.
Best city I've ever been to. I'd literally kill to be in your position rn
- More sun than london definitely
- live close to thr coast if you want to live in the mostly touristy-expectations-of-Sydney life.
- expect shitloads of asians in the city.
- rent is rape, shitty transportation and quite expensive to eat out unless you live like a local finding deals (ozbargain.com)
- We tend to have our close friends and familly here, so making friends with local would be hard and if u do make friends, it will not be close.
- art/music scene is OK; melbourne is considered better but not as much as Europe.
- dont post at this time when every aussie is fucking asleep its fucking 7:00am check the time difference you shitcunt.
Above is pretty accurate but as a Brit living here, rent and transport are both better and cheaper than London.

Transport is absolutely not better than London.
Can't comment on the rent as I didn't have ti pay any when I was there but I imagine it's similar anywhere near the city centre.

Well I guess I just experienced the worst of London then because it certainly seems better to me on the north shore. Yeah rent is about the same in any major city, but its also cheaper here than it was in Auckland.
