India is alright.

I lived in New Delhi for about a year and a half and have traveled to South Asia on seven separate occasions. I'm planning to go back for an eighth time in October.

India is a very interesting place - it's incredibly diverse in terms of culture, language, history, and religion.

However, I'd characterize my relationship with the country as being a mixture of love and hate. I've met and made tons of wonderful people there, but I've passed the point where I don't mind getting ceaselessly stared at. I'm fucking sick of how Indians eyeball anyone who looks a bit different from them.

They also have a very peculiar way of presenting their culture (speaking generally) as being superior to that of the West, while desperately seeking out praise and acceptance from white foreigners.

Thought I'd want to live and work in India for a couple years after graduating, but I'd rather do Mexico or elsewhere in Latin America at this point.
