A law called Internal Security Act means the executive power can perform preventive detention if national security is a concern and I recall opposition parties end up sued or jailed to oblivion.

kek, there is nothing to argue about. Russia even admitted several years ago that it indeed was the SU that was the aggressor, there's a reason why the SU was kicked out of the league of nations and not Finland

>>
>>77819879
Unless Finns are now somehow fluent in Russian, then you don't know shit about what is written there. I do know russian, so I know that you are full of shit, because nowhere in the article it is stated that Finland was an aggressor. I also know, that in the end it is stated that it is an opinion piece, that only reflect the author's opinion. How did you even find out about a random ass article on a random ass Russian language website? Are Finns that desperate for any mention of Finland by Russians?
>>
this is actually pretty shit. russians should openly oppose to this trash. otherwise they are gonna censor more websites in the very near future. some of you think its not a big deal, a thing, what always happens, there are a lot of measures to solve this, the west should care about themselves instead of us, but these assholes in power arent as moderate and rational as you think

Russia might actually be somewhat behind US - not only have they been spying on their citizens for who knows how long, but now they straight up, shamelessly, make money off of that by selling the internet users' browsing data to ad companies.
Russia's ban on vpn is due to the fact that they can't spy on their citizens otherwise. US doesn't ban vpn because NSA probably holds all the private crypto keys anyway.

At the very least we fight that a little bit. Not the majority, obviously, but at the very least we try. Other countries, which liberals consider """"free"""" such as Ukraine, just swallow shit like that up and say "well, we didn't need that anyway!" Or "identification apps are good! No more fucking spying and separatists in my country!" Literally never heard negative opinions about their country from themselves.
>>
>>77821300

People go to protests, not on the stupid Ovalny ones, but on those against stupid laws and what not. Voicing opinion is really important, even if doesn't work most of the time.
>>
>>77821488
It's a police state.
The best one could hope for with these protests was for police brutality and unlawful arrests to get way, way out of hand, yes more so than even now (way more). That way other states can't help but take notice and be forced to sever relationships with such tyrranical dictatorial state, because their electorate would not stand for any less. It needs to be so that Russian elites are actually hurting their own ugly grotesquly fat wallets with their dictatorship and are forced to loosen their grip, because otherwise they can't have foreign relations/trade.

At least that's what I believed. But look at the situation with new US sanctions. Ridiculous as they are, Europe is acting against them not because they are "against international rules/rights", but because it's going to hurt THEIR wallets to go along with them. Yep, Europe will deal even with a fucking North Korea if it benefits them. So will other "civilized" and "democratic" countries.
Also, North Korea is a shithole because it was convenient for literally every other country (Russia and China included) for it to be that way up until recent events. Completely ignored because there wasn't anything of note or use.

And with that, I actually don't know what to do. And some people don't fight because of that exact reason - there's nothing that can be done, they think.
I just want to leave now.

Also, yes, I'm just actually really butthurt with this VPN/TOR ban.

For worse at first tho, and very much so. Realistically.

Honestly, I think China is driven by a growing quality of their life (whether it be true, or in some points imaginary).
Canada is (or at least was) a great example of the fact that if people are healthy, secure, content with their financial well being, they are going to remain content and politically apathetic.
Have a good country where one could feel secure, well off, free to realize themselves (creatively, work-related, private life, etc.) and safe, and I won't care if it's under a rule called communism, socialism, monarchism, sharia, putinism or whatever else. So far Russia is anything but that. And it seems like it's actually getting worse.

Germany and Russia can only be saved if they submit to the uncorruptable Dutch King and the ever center right Dutch government.

To be honest, I would rather have the Dutch monarch as our head of state than our useless president

The world has, overall, gotten worse. The reds took control of Russia, Germany lost a significant amount of its historical territory, the US divided and conquered Europe and established politics that cut off Russia from the rest of Europe. Relationships with Russia were mostly good before the world wars. It makes much more sense that we're allied with Russia than the US, as they're on the same continent as we are.

>Ridiculous as they are, Europe is acting against them not because they are "against international rules/rights", but because it's going to hurt THEIR wallets to go along with them. Yep, Europe will deal even with a fucking North Korea if it benefits them. So will other "civilized" and "democratic" countries.
It's mostly shitholes that have diplomatic ties with North Korea but also a few allegedly civilized nations.

being unstable is a natural consequence. you cant have your cake and eat it if you want a change. personally, i hardly believe things would be a clusterfuck if the faggot died. economically, it wouldnt be worse than now. geopolitically, perhaps. but what kind of geopolitics russia does now would make them worse-off if it went to shit or was interrupted. people could just realize that "things might be better than the past or are not really changed compared to putins regime" and that would be somewhat right cause the faggot doesnt do anything good for their actual lives and russian economy. he has just fooled russians.

>>77823084
well, from my understanding, CCP is much more of tyranny than putins regime in terms of "the political change". their economy and standard of living have grown for sure but CCP is literally an absolute existence there. you cant have elections, even if the leader died because there are countless substitute politicians who want to be the top and are ready for it and everything pivots around the one party that consists of too many members compared to your parties. all the activists quickly get arrested or go under surveillance once you express something against the regime. the western media doesnt report the details of their tyranny but things that have happened there are much worse than russia. poor peoples houses are destroyed by CCPs diggers whenever CCP tell them to leave there for an urban development. this hasnt happened in russia but will keep in china.
>>
>>77817747
Your government is turning bringing Russia closer to Korea, our is trying to turn us into you... "The more east the more shitty regime" rule still apply.

>i hardly believe things would be a clusterfuck if the faggot died.
maybe, maybe not. But would you be willing a nuclear war over it?

He brought stability to Russia. This alone is worth a lot

You're correct. The CCP still very much practices extensive social controls (if not quite as Orwellian as in Mao's time) and what information/media you are and aren't allowed to access, in particular banning things that are seen as anti-Chinese or promote unhealthy social morals.

Russia today is just a generic corrupt Third World petrostate where they really don't care if you fap to MLP porn as long as Putin and his friends can rob the people unhindered and buy a new yacht every six months.

Sure economic growth is a form of guarantee for stability as it increase living standards, but there's a limit when an authoritarian state doesn't bother to budge. Political rule in China is definitely not like what was under Mao but as CCP reaches its goal to turn the state into a 1st world, fully developed service economy by 2050, people will be demanding for civil society and more freedoms from censors. I think by then as generation of CCP politicans they could be reforms needed with a tough skin. but as long sensitive """strong-men""" like XI keep popping up, its going to be a cycle of de facto civil right contractions.
