If your country isn't entirely green, it's either dystopian hellhole or boring rock.
>>77801981
this
my country has been almost entirely deforested for the sake of agriculture and it's fucking depressing
Why do only Finland, Sweden and Russia have forest? What is our masterplan?
Forests just stop in the middle of Russia. What a fascinating phenomenon.

It was covered in birch forests when the settlers first arrived, but Iceland just isn't a very good place to grow trees, or any other plant for that matter. In fact, lack of quality timber was one of the reasons why the Alþing agreed to become vassals of Norway. Since they couldn't build ocean-faring vessels on their own, they feared a lack of merchant shipping could lead to total isolation of the island, which would be really bad in lean times, let alone famine, since even at the best of times Iceland has never been completely self-reliant.

>>77804604
Don't know how large they are, but it wasn't exactly small like a park. It's nothing like here in mainland scandinavia. But at least they're not completely devoid of trees.
>>77804604
>>77804723
I was here, it's enough woods to be called a forest, isn't it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%81sbyrgi
>>77804540
Only 2% of Iceland is actually covered by forests
