there'd be spies and special interests everywhere. both "superpowers" would be trying to get allies. there would be lots of proxy wars, say, like americans supporting their only middle eastern ally israel, or the soviets supporting syria
"democratic" countries, like the british kingdom and the france would be selling weapons to shady groups, and communist countries in general, say, cuba, venezuela?, china. north korea, belarus, and others would be sanctioned etc

neutrals like turkey would try to play all sides, and there would be constant risk of nuclear warfare

so yeah basically everything will be the same, except maybe i would have been thought russian in school instead of english

I would have a wife, 4 kids, a Yugo and a job in the factory.
The factory would give me a large enough apartment which i would trade for 3 smaller ones and leave to my kids.
I would go to the croatian coast every summer, to Slovenia or Austria every winter.
My brother would be a smuggler that would employ shiptars to steal Levi's and my sisters husband would smuggle them into the soviet union via train trough bulgaria because he really is bulgarian.
I would have a weekend house in the village where i would start my retirement life.
My wife would never work, i would need a housewife and i would provide for everything.
Any luxury she wants i would occasionally give to her, still say i love you and hold hands in public, kiss her before bed, go shopping with her and the kids, take everyone to church on Sunday.
I would buy a Golf 2 from Germany which is the equivalent to the newest 4 door audi today, leave the Yugo to my oldest son.

Would probably be leading an okay-middle-class life in Prague because my mother would have never left Czechia for Germany.

Now living the sweet upper-middle-class life in Germany whilst supporting family in Czechia and me about to go to university. It was hard work though.
