Many western cars are typically seen as a status symbol of some sort (except credit trashbins like Renault Logan and such).
Russian cars serve either solely for transportation or as toys for BPAN ""subculture"". Also they have the tendency to break more often but this is kinda compensated with cheap spare parts.
